Psyclopse's "up from the ashes" build thread.
I started losing daylight, so I put all my harness bits, multimeter, soldering iron, shrink wrap and wiring tools into the plastic tote I've been using and stuck it in the Ex like I normally do.
Then, the reality of living in a trailer park crept up and slapped me in the face- some (insert curse word here) decided to break into the Ex and swipe the whole tub. I don't know why they just didn't take the tools- seems it would be easier to conceal than carting off a big plastic tub. I've been checking the dumpsters regularly hoping they threw out the harness, but no luck so far.
I've been trying to cobble together something out of my other tub (the leftovers from the harness I *was* building), but it's not looking promising. The jerk ended up with a nice Fluke meter though...
HOWEVER, another member here has a complete harness that I've been considering, but didn't have the money, and then the oil pump quit in the truck, which left us without ANY transportation. The VA is stepping up with help since I'm in school, so I'm hopefully gonna strike a deal on that soon.
FAN SHROUD- after comparing measurements between my truck's V8 and the Ex's V10, I came up with a 4-1/2 inch difference. So, I took that amount off of the V8 shroud and it seemed to work great! I did the same thing with the upper radiator hose.
Besides wiring, I think the pressing issues now are finding a throttle body and figuring out the vacuum lines (which are radically different on the truck). You can't really re-route the hard plastic lines very easily.
So far, I went from this:
To this:
Most of the plastic parts came from my 99 SD. I didn't really want to pillage the poor truck, but I need wheels. The vacuum tank (from the truck) has two pairs of ports, where the melted Excursion tank had one pair of ports. Anyone have any insight? Can I just cap off the pair I don't need to use?
Also, the truck's plastic vacuum lines don't come close to working on the Ex. Things are in different locations, and there is more lines for the truck, since it has EGR and all. I may have to go all old-school and just make up some rubber vacuum lines for now.
The photo below goes with my questions about vacuum ports. To my understanding, this only applies to those with the aluminum throttle body elbow...
Does the port circled in red go to the PCV valve on the passenger valve cover?
Does the port circled in yellow go to the brake booster?
Does the port circled in green (under the yellow) go to the plastic vacuum lines?

BOTH are aluminum, but the one I bought has the port for the PVC down under the throttle body. Mine has it on the side, next to the other two vacuum ports. The new one doesn't have the coolant fitting with the PCV port, mine does.
Either way, the actual throttle body is the same.
I'd be curious to know the pros/cons of each setup.
Wiring will be here soon!
What I really need is for some generous fella with a non-egr V10 to draw me a pretty picture.

Also noticed that there two vacuum lines coming from the heater box area, where there is only one on my 99 F250. Black tube on both vehicles, an additional white one on the Ex.
It also helps that your is a 2WD for purposes of figuring out vacuum lines. I'm not replacing the melted ESOF lines as I have manual locking hubs, so no use muddying up everything wit ESOF lines.

My main question now is the lines I have circled below. It's multiple small lines connected to the one port. I just need to know where the individual red lines go.

On your second question, you have the black and white lines correct.
In your question up the page a bit, I think you can see where the brake booster and pcv lines go on the throttle body.
Speak right up if you need a pic of anything else.
