Yes AOD is a good way to fix it and keep a little pep . I have 2.45 gears and should be at about 2300 rpm @100kph . My intentions are to be able to pull our 18' camper at times and will probably need to use drive even though I will have plenty of HP it will be far less heat- stress on trans .
Well I picked up my first stone chips on the truck yesterday so I guess I'm safe to go anywhere now..lol Tried to see if I could hide them today and will see how it goes tomorrow when I try buffing the repairs..
and the alignment went well...
not much... the dog house is done.. he's gonna do the door seals then remove the doors to paint... one spot on roof he wants to massage a little... should get some primer on it at least this week...
I on the other hand have been busier than a one armed paper hanger.. and some of it was on the truck... finished up all my brake lines and fuel line.. ordered a trans cooler (a Denale 13960) got that to plumb up, should be here Wednesday... got every nut and bolt torqued on frame and suspension..trying to finish up all the stuff that's hard to do with the cab on... and the never ending chores around house. Been trying to get my yard canopy lifted some to get some sun on the grass... that 9' pole saw gets heavy after a couple of hours... tough being an old man.
I did bed liner (Monster liner) under the cab and Jim and I decided to do the same under fenders then paint over it... he's don't it before and says it helps. That won't help the chips but might stop some of the stars from the rocks hitting the underside of the fiberglass.
John & John
Not sure if it would have helped where your star was John but I was watching a Lizard-skin video that claimed spraying their product under the fenders and hood would protect against rocks thrown up under your truck and the evil stars they produce.

Wouldn't have helped me as the stone came from the outside. The complete underside of my truck is protected with bed liner..Now the other John has a big problem being fiberglass and paint on both surfaces. Big potential for staring ..
