You guys are talking about the Fitech systems. I run the GO EFI 400 hp system on my 5.0L mustang. I love this system way more then any carb out there. Easy install and easy to tune. If you go this way just spend the money on a intank fuel pump.
I was refunded for the transmission and shipping, hooray! . I now have the rear differential completely rebuilt and with an Auburn limited slip carrier, kept the 3.73 gearing. Next week the new AOD I purchased will be switched out to replace the C6..
always little bugs here and there! It's kinda frustrating till you get them all out, guess that's part of hot rodding! You like the Aod with the 373 gears, The only thing I want to change is go to a Lenten throttle body.

Are you not liking the FiTech Gil..? Why do you want to change to a Lenten throttle body..?

sorry meant Lentech aod valvebody,( stupid auto correct) fi tech had been really good? Just feel the aod kicks into overdrive and bogs the engine down too mutch
I haven't had a chance to try the truck yet with the AOD, changing over the manifold right now and have to put the fuel tank back in. I have 29 inch tall tires, 3.73 gears and now the AOD..Gearing seemed fine with the C6
yep went through that 3:73 gears, adjusted the cable 6 times ( every time i adjusted my Fi tech) to get proper pressure, still sluggish for my taste.
did they put a shift kit in it? the guy who rebuilt the trans in my 30' coupe put one in and it made it shift violent, but it did shift when I wanted it to. 700r. a real pain to tie it in to 3 strombergs, but it did work well.
I have a locar complete cable which is working good, It's just a pain setting your fi tech, one setting your moving the throttle body flaps which then plays with your trans pressure as it increases/decreases the cable length, that is done now and everything is set right, feels sluggish kinda, read up on it and bigger luxury cars had different settings than others for softer shifts.
Last time I had the truck out was on labor day. The next day I started to remove the C6 transmission to replace it with an AOD, had the done in a couple days then installed a new Edlebrock performer intake manifold and 1406 carburetor. Been waiting for the end piece for the throttle cable for the last 2 weeks. Not sure if it was lost in the mail or just found the slowest horse to deliver it.Today I decided to make my own today so improvised.
I needed a piece of aluminum so cut the ear from a scraped drive shaft I had laying around.
The piece on the right is what I made. This was all done because I couldn't find a ball stud with long enough threads and had to adapt to the stud that came with the AOD correcter plate.
I also made the extra linkage arm and that triangle shaped piece so I can add cruise control later on..
And here's a few pics on the intake manifold and carb. Will be hooking up the linkage tomorrow..
