Thanks for the kind words guys. We are doing much better today. One funny thing happened, I must have mentioned to the wife and son I need some new socks. I don't think they di a good job of coordinated their purchases because I now have 18 new pairs of socks.

Gavin, we are wanting a new puppy for me as well. I have considered both German Shepherds and Boxers. I've never had my very own dog before. What variety of puppy are you looking for?
If we do get some pups they will be labs. I love the breed because they are fairly easy to train. They're great with kids and they generally want to stay close to you. They do shed hair.
So sorry to hear of your Loss. Years ago I too had to put my Black Lab mix down because of a tumor. I was there in the room and we were looking eye to eye "as the lights went out". I wanted me to be the last thing he saw. Hardest thing I've ever done in my life.
