Roy; a 15,000lb Boat and trailer. Last year I traded in my 2011 DRW for the 2014 SRW. First time I hooked up and towed I knew I made a mistake. Just took me this long to stomach the pain to rectify said Mistake.
I robbed all of my parts i.e. the shocks, Overload springs, Headache Rack, Front hitch, and Horse Mats off of the old truck for installation on the new girl. The DRW sits lower than the SRW so I might forgo the front hitch. Installation will require cutting the air dam.
My Boat is usually wet slipped in Westport WA for the summer. I do a little fishing off the coast for Salmon, and Albacore Tuna. And Roy; Your thread on your truck is the one that one that got me looking for mine. Only problem Western Washington Dealers don't normally stock Duallys. They tend to sit on the lot for a while and accumulate miles from the window surfers. Then sold at a discount because of it. Mine had 49.1 miles the first time I drove her back to the main dealer lot.
Wife is better now I think or she is planning her revenge.
Here is Miss Eliza in Westport in the first picture. and the aft deck roof line in the second picture. And yes I have the rods to fill them up with and the salmon rods go on the fwd radar arch.
If your bored and got a day to read here is the thread of her build in my shop:

The ranchero has seen better days. It is a dark blue. The drivers rear quarter is caved in. I took it to the local High School for the bed to be fixed by a young man that My Neighbor three doors down the street kicked out of his house. His son was a good kid for the most part just a lil rebellious. That night he took the car and parked it outside the fence with out the teacher knowing. That night he came around and took it and his girlfriend for a ride. At the local DQ supposedly another kid doing burnouts sideswiped the car damaging the quarter panel. Both kids had no Licenses. I am left with a messed up car. Got a new Quarter panel just not had the time yet to replace it and then repaint it.
The 67 cougar is also in pieces after I restored it MY son drove it for 8 years. It now needs another paint job. The son just got married and moved out but the car is at my house. Work and the new wife have the Priority. Remember?

Goatram,
If you still like the idea of a front receiver hitch but don't want to deal with the cutting of the front air damn or the hitch frame sitting low to the ground, think about going with a Bodiak front receiver hitch. It bolts to the Ford factory tow hooks/loops with four bolts and sets up nice and high from the ground. A couple of other advantages of the Bodiak is that it makes a nice step platform to stand on if you need to reach under the hood of the truck, plus it can be put on or removed as needed in about 10 minutes time. The Bodiak is rated at 500/8,000, a little less than the Curt/Reese but truly livable for duty.
