Okay, it's like this on both sides of my truck. Evidently the wind blows the inner fender liner up against the inside tire... So far, no damage to the tire.
This truck only has 10k on it and has never been north of 75 mph (and that was only once - I am normally at 60-65 mph...
You can see that it has worn a strip on the liner...
Hmmm...I haven't seen or heard of this. However, I've had Duraflaps on mine almost since new. I didn't have flaps on my 2011 and don't remember this happening
That edge of the factory guard on mine is completely rounded out from apparently rubbing the tire. Mine is an 08 but that liner is completely falling in towards the tire on mine. Tempted to just use some heavy cable ties to pull it back.
Just to be more clear, this inner fender issue is in FRONT of the tires... I have WeatherTech mud flaps at the rear..
So Dave, are yours doing the same thing as mine?
No problem here. But we have 4 rivets on the verticle part of fender and one rivet located on inside of duals and the 3 at the bottom. By your picture, it looks like the one inner up high is missing.
The inner edge of mine were both curved in, not enough to wear away though. I took my heat gun to them and put them back where they are supposed to be. Probably have to do it periodically.
