Can you eat Javalina? Or are they any good. If so Bill you should add one to the freezer.
Amy have fun don't forget to post some pictures & let us know how it is going.
We got a lot of work done today. Tomorrow the Project Manager from APS will be here to tell me what has to be done to get power.
Then in the Pm a couple that owns a wood yard will be here to give us an estimate on trimming trees & cutting up & hauling out all the dead & down.

yes Javalina are edible,
why are you paying someone to cut fire wood on your property? are they cutting and stacking for you or for them to sell?

Good Morning Everyone. Bill sounds like dinner is wandering your property. Use a bow for stealth.
I'm not physically able to clean up all the dead & down. Along with wanting the trees trimmed to grow more healthy.
I'm hoping to work out a deal for part of the wood to them & maybe some money.
I'm guessing I have 3-4 cords of just dead & down. Also I want it done this summer as soon as I can get it done because of fire.
I have been looking for someone that wanted to work something out for 2 or 3 months now. I think I mentioned it on a post awhile back.

I guess I missed that post! I would have brought some of the guys from our church up there to cut, also can sometimes get community service workers.

I wish I would of known Bart & Thanks. If I run into other things I'll try to let you know.
But anyway they started it today & it is looking great. This was a big concern of ours because of the dry conditions & fire.
Some of the old dead is going to a family of a disabled Veteran in need of wood, here in Ash Fork for free, so we felt good about that. The people doing the work are going to deliver it to them.
They are going to chip up all the small branches etc. I will use it on our roads as a base before rock. But I'm keeping some for winter barrel fires. Along with getting some of the wood for our use.
We are leaning more towards a pellet stove in our house rather than wood. We feel it will be cleaner & easier. As we both get older we look more at simple & easy.
Had a very good meeting with Project Manager from APS. It looks like they are going to made it easy & very little cost to us. An 80' trench, conduit, & meter box. They will install a new transformer & run overhead along the property line to even with the house then we will run underground to the house.
So a very good day overall. Plus we got a lot of little projects done.
