Well first off I just don't care for them. Many say they are great and maybe they are but we had a 06 F150 5.4L that ended up being junk. Problem after problem. Also to me it felt gutless. Of course then I didn't know what I know now. Frankly I love 6.8L and nobody can scare me from it. That thing is a tow hoss. I love any V10 including starting to like the V10 in your truck.

What I like about my V-10 is first it was "cheap" second it has great power at low RPMs. It develops max torque @2400 RPM. That is low for a gas engine. Third it is a rock solid trouble free engine.
Before I bought this I called my wife's cousin who works for Carson City Dodge & has for years. I asked him about the V-10 & he told me we see very few with anything other than regular maintenance things. The BAD, he said, is they like gas stations. But what 3/4 ton 4x4 gas engine truck not like gas stations.

Yep that is what I like about our Ford V10. It doesn't make the best at low rpm but it is still great.

I was talking to a guy we know at the local delarship while checking out a truck and it was a diesel. He says the V10 is great but don't you like passing gas stations. I told him gas stations are where I get the most compliments he looked at me confused. LOL In my opinion if you want a 4x4 truck of any size don't complain about fuel mileage. If you want fuel mileage go and buy 2 Priuses. 1 for each foot. LOL

Trav don't go buy a priuse they don't stop. LOL That is because once they stop they can't get going again. LOL
I love the posts here on FTE about a 460 & gas mileage. If your worried about gas mileage don't drive, or PLAN your trips. You think in the old days people rode a horse to town, to the store 6 times a day?

I know I hate 460 and fuel mileage posts too. The 460 is the biggest gas hog I have ever seen next to the chevy 454 that is.

When we go into town it is either because we absolutely have to or we have nothing else to do.

I got rid of my fuel efficient car and only regret one thing about getting rid of it and that is not charging more for it. The explorer and expedition get plenty good enough gas mileage for me to make the 18 mile one way trip to town when needed. Heck the fuel mileage they get I don't mind doing it everyday.

Hello AZ,

It's been awhile(a week)since I've been on. I've been running pretty hard on the road. Also forgot about the "summer thread" so I wasn't getting email alerts. Lol

Hope the fte member with the X got going out of prescott. I don't recall seeing anything in the Excursion forum, thou again I've been busy.

Heading up to the rim this coming weekend. Going to see how the wife and kids do dry camping on Blm land.

Hope everyone is doing good.

Good Morning Ray, Bill, & Trav.
Glad others are lurking around. LOL
Trav I feel the same way. Our F150 gets 14-18, Now Vici's Crown Vic gets 15-22, that is just good with me.
We have the Honda Civic up for sale & that is our gas mileage KING. But if we want to pull off the road you have to be so careful because it is so low to the ground. It isn't that comfortable for us taking long trips. The Crown Vic has spoiled us.

Howdy az gang.

Crown vics will do that to ya.

Biker live last night came on TV (a show me and my dad love to watch) and stared in Arizona. The bike shops were Bagger inc which I have heard of and love their work, torch (which I never heard of), and something that started with an S that right now I can't think of.
If y'all don't know what biker live is well it is a show that gives bike shops each $15K and 5 weeks to build a bike that is road worthy and looks awesome and the voting while watching the elapsed time of the show is live. The people vote off twitter and the company with an S (which is just a shop out of a 3 car garage in Queen creek) won with one of the neatest bikes I have seen yet.

So far all the teams I have voted for has one except one time.

Good Morning Trav.
I missed that last night. I can't vote but the last show I saw the bike I would of picked won. That's a first.
We have turned back into a Ford family except for my great Dodge. Thankfully no (GM) Government Motor junk. Unless it is close to free I won't be owning anymore GM. Their value in my mind is a couple hundred dollars for any GM. Even with that last Blazer that would of been too much.

That is the one I didn't like. But the first one I saw was a blue sport bike mixed with Harley and had dirt bike handle bars. I loved that one. The one they built last night looks even better.

Just got back from the ER. Vici hit her leg on the e-brake petal, her leg has been really swollen she has been holding water. It was her good leg. It just blew open. She needed stitches. We are praying it will heal with her condition. So please keep her in your thoughts & prayers. She sees her wound care doctor this afternoon. Good news skin was plyable enough that stitches held (good sign)
