Good to know. The only reason I'm considering cutouts is because by the time I remove the rust, I won't have a lip to screw the regular flares to. I don't really need the extra wheel space of a cutout......

yeah i was going to get som e cheap ones for the same reason.

I know trav the tails looked much lighter after the second coat and when they dried it was a lot darker than i preferred i liked the first coat in the picture i posted but oh well you live and learn i can always pic up some junk yard lights and start over!

I am going to redo the red in plastidip for now as well to cover all the bad paint, it looks so much better people keep complementing it on how it use to look to now.

Small update: the truck has been getting kinda neglected but I want to this summer do the following.

- Install vinyl floor mat (remove tan carpet)
- Repaint scuffed interior pieces
- Plastidip paint job this will be a temporary solution until i can get it repainted once the metal is all fixed (fenders bed etc.).
- 08 super duty center console out of my 04
- Hard plastic dash cover
- auxilary powered radio, the factory wiring is messewd up somewhere and causes over voltage to the radio making any radio not work
- Maybe some super duty seats, i will test fit one of mine while i install the Expy console into my 04, the blown lumbar airbag kills my back when driving this guy (damn i sound old)
- Fender Flares to cover the rust for inspection purposes
- New rear leafs (out of my 04...again)
- Matching front lift

That's just about it it's fairly in expensive to do all this because most of the parts are coming form my 04 lol.

Unfortunately the transmission is really starting to go, Reverse sounds terrible grinding into reverse and 1st is near impossible to use it pops out immediately after going in and given any gas. I know this is a long shot but will a 4r100 bolt up to the 4.9l? i know they can come with a e4od and a 4r100 is basically a newer e4od tranny so if it can i will pull the 4r100 out of my 04 now and make the swap effort with a stand alone controller for it.

No 4r100 won't bolt to the 4.9L.
Try checking out the clutch fork. I am pretty sure on these M5ODs that is common. That is why I want to swap a ZF5 in my brother's 91 F150 4.9L but he is iffy on it because he wants to put a 302 in it and the ZF5s low gears would be harsh on take off.

The seats have been swapped from SDs thousands of times for you old guys

Oh I know it's been done I'm jUst concerned about space for me knees lol. I will test fit my SD seats out of the 04 then get some at the junk yard when j go to get some old rims to drop the 04 in the garage to get it out one day lol.

That's a bummer about the 4r100 can the bell housings from an e4od and 4r100 be swapped? I could get a bell housing and then bolt it up, I kinda want to switch to an auto in this truck it's kinda cumbersome to shift being so tall in that little space lol.

I will check the clutch fork though thanks!

No e4OD and 4r100s have intergrated bell housings meaning no disconnecting bell housings.

Get a C6 for a small block ford and 4x4 and be much happier. LOL

I built a headache rack and mounted the 50 on top and a twenty on the underside of the top for a reverse light. I love them!

Complete bedsides?? I've seen the rust repair panels for around $30, but the cheapest complete panels I've seen are $300 or so. If you have a link for cheap bedsides, I think a lot of folks would find that useful.

Haha I'll be that helps a ton, I really want to tint my rear window I'm so use to my F250 and the Expedition having factory tined rear windows that I feel naked driving the 150 lol.

So this weekend my buddy needed help packing up the last of his stuff so he can drive it down to Texas, we had moved this 1950 Ford cab over onto a trailer for him and my other buddy towed it to his house temporarily.

He was throwing out a nice aluminum truck cap he head on his 98 Ram 2500 and asked if i wanted it so i took it and tried it out on the 150 lol,

Readjusted it

There is a larger Gap between the Cab and bed then we expected but i had a crazy idea of making a filler piece and putting some orange LEDs along the outside of that piece to fill the gap and add some running lights. I plan to really only use this int he winter but i have no where to store it so it will remain on the truck for a little while. I am also going to repaint it black to match better that silver.
