I thought I'd throw this out there for those of you that are working in the Durham, Raleigh, RTP area, and may not make it home due to the distance, and what the weather may do to us today. We have an extra "Guest" bedroom here and you'd be welcome to it.
PM me and I will reply with my cell number, and address. I'll check on here throughout the day.
Y'all be safe
Unk Bob
That's awfully kind Bob.
I'm starting out my hotel window at
the same road that took me 35 minutes to go one mile. It is starting to move now (Raleigh-chapel hill Blvd).
Plow truck has past a few times. Hopefully everyone is where they are going to be. I'm not one to worry about the weather. Conditions always seem overstated. I will have to say I'm staying put for foreseeable future.
I sincerely hope all of y'all are safe and sound and stay that way.
Starter in and working great. My 66 year old body, not so great..lol..
I went to lkq in Greenville Sunday. Snagged a pmgr starter out of a95 3.8 mustang. I have no idea how you would actually replace one on a running vehicle. I had to"reroute" the fuel lines and use a large pry bar to move a large brace out of the way. An eighth inch wider and that starter wasn't making it out. At least not by me.
By the time I installed into my 82 302 f150 it left my 27 year old body feeling a little old.
Though I have to say that I was so excited afterwards that I really didn't feel it till Monday :-)
Very nice of you to offer up some shelter Bob. The weather is crappy out there.
Glad you guys got your starters installed. Looks like I have some hub work in front of me. Just manually locked them in for the ride home just in case I needed 4wd. They made an awful sound so I stopped and turned them back to free and all sounded normal.
Left work at 2 and it took me three hours to get home. It was a cluster all the way. Luckily never needed 4wd. Lots of accidents and cars left on the road. Big relief to pull into the driveway.
Y'all stay safe and warm.
Dear Clint, please take your winter weather back. Regards, North Carolina
Dear Clint, please take your winter weather back. Regards, North Carolina
I'd sign that petition! I'm getting slack from friends and family back in Missouri. "Glad to see I got a little bit of Missouri weather". And truthfully... I don't miss the stuff at all
Do I stay or do I go???
We got a flier in the mail yesterday that the new Bass Pro Shop just opened in Cary! Back home we were 30 minutes away from two Bass Pro Shops, and the one in Springfield is a huge monster. I'm really wanting to check out his new store. But I think I'll wait until this weekend.
Hey Charlie, yes the Springfield Mo store is the original/home store. Huge sucker and it's added on too all of the time.
IT'S SNOWING...... Again
Still inside here, guess I'll hit that new Bass Pro store this weekend.
G'Morning everybody
Sun is out and I may get a wild hair and possibly get the snow and ice off of my truck today. That will be my Valentines day present to myself...
I love the holiday's, but "Valentines Day" is a made up holiday, I don't even buy a card for my wife. Yup, it's true, I tell her every, day that I love her, and do everything that I can for her. If she needs anything, all she has to do is ask, and if I can do it, or get it, it's gonna happen. I have in the past have had her something nice delivered to her at work. And I was going to do that this year. But with the weather, her office has been closed since Tuesday and she has been working from home. We've been together 20 years, so it isn't a shock. But guess who isn't getting lucky tonight either.
That was a good chuckle to start the day Bob. Needed that.
This weather has sucked. No going home this weekend for me. Got to make up for lost time. It seems half my employees are happy with snow. It gets in the way of making money, I cant understand how anyone would be happy about that.
Sorry to hear that your not going to make it home this weekend. So what do you do Charlie?
We're checking out that new Bass Pro in Cary sometime this weekend. You're welcome to join us if you'd like.
