I'm amazed at how little Ford changed things between the Excursion and a 2012 Truck. I was looking at some of the pics of the floor of the original Excursion and then of the Truck front half stitched to the X back half. The floor is so similar.
I'm guessing at some point, Ford will change things enough and limit the "newest" year truck that can be used.
Is 2012 the newest truck that'll work?
Kudos! Really cool stuff to watch and think about. If only I had a welder and knew how to use it, a huge shop, a 2012 truck lying around, and lots and lots of time.
I can imagine there are some things about this build that are going to be a real pain. This might sound funny but it looks like mating the two bodies together isn't the hardest part. All the wiring, the overhead consoles, the overhead HVAC, wiring up the radio and DVD, the wiring for the windows and locks, lighting inside and out, the carpeting, all the plastic panels... my head is starting to hurt.

You can build any F250 F350 from to 2008 to 2014. The hard part is not cutting and splicing the frame and body. It is all the electrical, carpeting, headliner, side airbags, painting all the panels and such.
