SOunds like its leaking and may cause Low fuel press in turn killing injectors

can you see it leak with the KOEO fuel pump running
i dont see it leaking, it was in the cap itself. like in the square part itself

take a paper towel and soak up the fuel. If it comes back the cap is likely cracked on top. (someone probably used a ratchet in the square, which can cause the lid to crack. Should only use a socket) Are you sure it is fuel?

KOEO = key on engine off

If you haven't replaced the upper fuel filter since you bought the truck...your best bet would be to get a Motorcraft (or Racor) filter & cap from Ford....or online. Do NOT use an after market cap or filter. Racor makes the fuel filters for Motorcraft.

What is so bad about OEM caps? I will check it, make sure it wasent there from a filter change or something odd. I may not be able to change it for two weeks. Have to work. Will it hurt it?

OEM = Motorcraft.....OEM/Motorcraft is good! It's the aftermarket ones that are bad. Watch the videos on that link for an explanation.

Actually...non OEM in some cases is the pain in the a$$!

Probably looking at about $60 for both fuel filters and the cap. (yes, there are 2 fuel filters)

They suggest using a 1/2" rachet to remove/install the cap.....but don't do it....use a socket

Ok, it seems like I have oem filters. Called the guy that did my injectors ad then did an oil/fuel liter change etc.. For free to!
Why is there two fuel filters? I'm illiterate to diesel I'm sorry! Does it intake more fuel? Seems like I get better mpg then gas!
The table is what. 23 gallons on an 04 right? I thought 29 bit it holds 23. Do I have a reserve fuel tank when my light comes on how much fuel does that mean I have on gallons?

The one on the rail under the drivers door is called HFCM, That's your fuel pump and water separator , Check the cap O-ring too sometimes they crack or get twisted up making a non tight situation/leak , don't tighten the cap too tight just snug for no leaks
