I sure wouldn't mind turning a wrench on Big Red or The Mare. Which of you want to fly me out for a week? LMAO
I'll be broke again after I pay for all the stuff for this build! If it cost a quarter to fly you here, I couldn't get you out of sight of your house! LOL!
I plan on making the inlet flange....should I make it divided?
Yes, make it divided and make absolutely sure that the gasket surface is flat. We don't want your truck to look like mine going down the highway with more smoke rolling under the truck than out of the exhaust pipe. T4 bolt pattern is 3.25" x 2.75".
What exactly is the purpose of the divided flange, and would it be a good or bad idea to build the pipes and collector as separate pieces ?
As far as the divided housing, im not sure how much it helps, if it does at all, on our V8s, but they use them in 4 cylinders so they can give cylinders 1/3 and 2/4 their own side of the turbine housing so they keep the exhaust pulses in order and get 4 steady streams of exhaust to the turbine. It helps the little 4 cylinder engines spool these turbos. It wouldnt quite work this way when you have 4 cylinders per side. I would make it divided anyways though. The housing is divided and so is the gasket. Might as well make the collector match.
On the up pipes, either way would be fine, but making them two piece would be nice. I would use v-bands to connect the bellowed up pipes to two pipes coming out of the collector. Look up pics of the turbonetics mounting kit and that's what I would d minus having the cast collector up top.
