welcome all to the Nor Cal chapter of FTE.

Hi, and thanks!
I'm in Cupertino, been watching for a mid-fifties F100.
I've had a couple of good leads fall through, either from misleading ads (didn't run / lots of rust) or the seller actually selling the vehicle off without letting me know. Crossing my fingers that someone with a good running '56 long bed out of state proves to be fruitful, they've been a little slow on communication which of course keeps me worried they'll sell it off. If I manage to get it, it'll be a running truck with a spare short bed. Already plotting and scheming, with the long-term plans to potentially do a 90's/00's AWD Explorer swap, and short term plans to be just to drive it as is (with some minor upgrades).
Whatever I end up with, wouldn't be the first Ford in the house (sis has a '68 Bronco), or the first classic / project vehicle (ground-up resto'd my father's '70 Barracuda convertible, and working on a '66 Morgan +4 & a '72 Airstream Ambassador).
If there's any owners local to me of the mid-fifties F100's I'd love to meet up some time.
Wanted to introduce myself. I’ve been grinning sheepishly for the past week when I bought my dream truck. I have had my heart set on a truck like this since I was 8 years old. I’m looking forward to learning new ideas and seeking out advice here!
Welcome to the NorCal Chapter! I'm sure you'll learn more than you need to from the people on here. I think being a part of this community is what's allowed me to operate my truck since '07.
Humboldtonian, i'm guessing you're up here in humboldt co.?

Hello all,
I'm new to the site. Hoping to gain knowledge & insight to today's new trucks, issues & quirks. Had many vehicles over the years but the last 3 were all Super Duty's.
2003 F 350 Reg cab FX4 6.0 diesel
2008 F 350 Super Crew FX4 6.4 diesel. (custom order)
2017 F350 Super Crew Lariat 6.7 diesel. (custom order)
Thank you for letting me join,
John.
Marine sergeant 66-70 needs help. Wonder what it would take to convert body of 2001 reg cab to a super cab. Both vehicles are 2001.
New to forum and not sure where I post this question or if theres a thread dealing with conversion.
Check the forums for that year truck. I don't usually check FTE much anymore except the Nor Cal chapter, since I no longer own a Ford truck. But I do know they have forums for different year trucks, and you should be able to get some help there.

Thank you for your service, especially during a time period when Americans were not giving much in the way of thanks.
To convert a regular cab to a super cab, you would need a new frame, because there is a rail dip in each frame that corresponds to the cab length. That dip is shorter on a regular cab, which kicks up sooner for the bed support than a super cab frame.
I think you would be many dollars ahead selling your regular cab and reviving your super cab. Essentially, it would be easier to swap powertrains than swap cabs.
thanks for the heads up. No wonder I could not find the info online.
would front doors, fenders and hood work since the are both
2001? Is it ok to post parts for sale?
