Ford touched on the security of the Smart Data Link Connector in the 2020 model year measurement session for body builders that took place earlier this month. I'm pretty sure "they" created all this stuff just to track down whether or not I put trash in the recycling or recycling in the trash. Not that I'm paranoid or anything.
Speaking of tracking... If I have a Ford Pass Mobile App on my phone, can I track down the location of my truck when someone else is driving it? So if they say they are at a job, when they are actually at Burger King, I'll know about it?
All the details of electronics in these vehicles makes my head hurt, especially when a Rat chews through something vital , oh by the way Y2K , we at FTE already have a lock on Ya, lol, and Burger King was one of the places we found you ,lol
Another step towards Big Brother having control over our lives. Next thing you know, they'll be brainwashing us with subliminal transmissions sent over that sophisticated system. Don't be surprised when you lose your guns, and you convert to being a vegan.
Been in here a while. haven't intro'd myself in the NorCal forum as yet, so Hi everyone! I'm a Ford girl, have been since the late 60's. Now have a new to me 2004 F250 V10 (6.8l baby!), extended cab, long bed. Came with camper shell and running boards. But it's the bare bones, no frills model, doesn't even have remote door locks. Far cry from my luxury wannabe truck, 02 Lincoln Blackwood with all the bells and whistles of that vintage, like a built in nav system. But I love my new truck! Needed a real truck to haul, so the Blackwood is being sold. I'd love to keep it, because it is a rare bird, but can only do one vehicle so the lovely lincoln must go to a new home and be loved by someone else. Currently only have my lightweight horse trailer, but hoping someday to have an RV, so the 3/4 ton is a better truck. Didn't want the expense of diesel. I work in a small auto shop and we work on loads of diesels, parts are pricey enough on gas, but diesel?? sheeesh. But wanted power, so was looking for a V10. It's only got 288000 miles on it. Friends that have older V10s say 500k and much more is normal. It runs great. Planning to add air bags and a bigger tranny cooler.
Finding odd things with this f250, like I discovered I don't have reverse lights. Thought maybe it was my trailer, but the truck doesn't have them functioning. Haven't had time to troubleshoot yet. Oddly there is no relay in the supposed spot for reverse lamps in the fuse panel, nor a place to actually plug one in. Heck it's only an issue at night, so may just do some led backups instead. It does have the usual trailer connector issues, I am still sorting that out too. One expects issues with an older model anyway, right?
Well, I'm a 'chick', looking for a date but not a hookup. (wink!) Course, I am a much older chick, so there's that too.

Welcome To the world wide school of FTE , nice looking truck and should give you years of pulling enjoyment , I found with my 350 diesel , yes maintenance gets pricey , fuel consumption is better than a V10 , longer distance while putting the truck to work , around town Meh it does ok ,
come on over to the Northern California November Chat , and meet the guys , it’s about time we have a women on the site , also somewhere on this site is the V10 forum , I normally head to the 6.0 Diesel forum and spew what knowledge I have left, your back up lights are on fuse stringing from Reverse power , either bulb related or open short , I’d go for bulb first with a test light to see if power is going to those.will take two people 1 at the shifter and brake and one at the bulb , good luck and Welcome .

High 5. Welcome. What part of The State are you in? I'm in San Francisco, where the fog has been thick, and the temps chilly. I think the closest member to me is GlueGuy. Although with all of the Ford trucks & vans I see every day, there should be at least 1 other member. But there isn't.

Thank you 04badford!! Will check out the chat too.
HI Fifty150, thanks for the welcome! I am closer to Chico, sorry. One would think there would be more members, agreed. 80% of vehicles in my area are trucks, and of those I'd say 70% are Fords.... and of those, hahaha, a good 80% are white. It does get a bit warm here. I am thoroughly enjoying our 'indian summer' weather. Sunny, temps in 70's and low 80's, very nice. Course we need rain horribly... but I really hate mud. Yeah I know I have a 4WD now, finally, but I still hate mud.

Hey kids from San Francisco & Chico. Im from Petaluma. Which i guess is much closer to SF. I'm only here to enjoy some of the conversations. I have a much older Ford F100. You both have 4 wheel drive? I've taken all the old ford suspension out from underneath. Replaced it all with Jaguar xjs front and rear independent suspension. With Air-Ride all around. much different than your 4x4's.
start mine up. It comes up & self levels to a fixed height. Then i can raise or lower it to different heights. If I'm towing or have a heavy load in the bed. . Oh, And its Red not white.... 😋

Hello Yita motor , do you have any leads on the OEM battery to battery cable for a late built o4 6.0 Diesel , I don’t have the number right off hand , but can get it out of my truck in the morning , that part seems to be back ordered for about 1 year already , didn’t know if you stock OEM .
