Does anybody know what this wire harness is for? Comes out with the dimmer harness and runs across the floor, and under the seat where there's another empty plug. Just wondering if its anything I think I might need, if not its going away
Went to look at the bed my buddy had today, truck out, got a lead on another, and it was Texas gold lol very little surface rust, like 2 spots with the paint off, tailgate had a baseball sized dent, but wasn't warped like all the others I've looked at, and the inside of it had very few dents in the fenderwells or floor. The owner(wasn't home) is supposed to be getting ahold of me if he's willing to sell, fingers crossed since its the best bed I've seen around.
Update time. The front and back glass is out, got lucky with no structural rust in my window sills.
Also experienced the joy of removing the dash pad.
Looks like my glovebox was replaced in 04
Scored a trimless glovebox door, going to shave the badge and put a locking latch in
This speaker looks good to reuse doesn't it? Lol
at the point that you are at right now that whole dash will come out VERY easy, one bolt through either side, two above where the steering column bolts up, one through the parking brake assy., 5 screws at the top, and maybe one more at a support in the middle, to take the vent out turn the register to where it is completely sideways, then there are 4 tabs on the side that push in and the vent comes right out, for the trim there are nuts on the back side of the dash

Thanks I figured it out, the far right vent was pretty brittle and broke but I've got it all stripped down now. I'm not sure yet wether or not I want to pull it all the way out for paint. I might just do it though just to do the best job possible.
I've got it stripped nearly bare now

Yeah here's the best I've got right now
I'll be getting the pad recovered in a nice black leather or something with a white stitch going across the front
I got the glovebox lid done today
Should look much cleaner now once its painted
The seat must have came out of a newer truck as it had these nice lift blocks underneath all the way around lol
Here's how she sits at the end of the day. I still have some filler work to smooth up but I was getting the inside stripped so I could get a buddy inside sanding and prepping.
You could be right about the lift on the seat, but when I was younger I put 1" spacers under my seat made out of some black teflon blocks my dad had scrapped. I did it for a little clearance under the seat for my amp. Truck was all original 1978.
I'll probably keep them in some fashion when it goes back together because I got used to the way it felt, but that depends on what the seat refurb does for the seat height.

Looking good, keep at it.
Thank you, I might see how it fits and sits without, It appeared to have had a system once but I won't be doing anything crazy with it so I probably won't need the clearance if it'll sit low on its own
The seat fits fine with no blocks, better actually, sat down into the truck better than before. I did have to fab up a linkage to tie the slider latches back together to move it. I'm going to paint the frame next weekend.
Today I'm trying my hand at dying seatbelts and so far so good! The lap belts look great. The shoulder belts are still in the mix had to concentrate the mix since they were blue but they seem to be taking it well.
