Just a thought, Im not sure where you live or where the truck came from but its possible someone swapped the cab onto a newer frame simply to be exempt from any smog tests or inspection requirements. If they could get it registered as a 75 it could be old enough to be exempt. 75's didnt have shoulder belts though so Im not sure
Seems legit, it came from Colorado so idk. We don't have to worry about them here.
The shoulder belts were obviously added later, they're a different color from everything else. The bolts for the original lap belts are still there.
Im not sure whats going on with that but it doesnt seem like the indicater should be able to prevent you from shifting into 1st. Sounds more like a shift linkage issue

Here's what it looks like... Truck's in park here.
Can anybody tell me what kind of axle that's under the front? I'm trying to find a new tie rod for it and none of the ones in LMC I've looked at match it. I've looked at all the 73-79 options and none look to be correct. I went out to check what model the axle is and I marked down all the numbers I could find on it. The passenger side model number was not legible and I managed to get what I think is C30 off the drivers side. If anybody can help it would be greatly appreciated. Here's the numbers I got off the tube. http://i1179.photobucket.com/albums/...ps997fdcf7.jpg
If I recall correctly the Danas have the model # stamped right near the cover. Have you ran the vin through a decoder? That might help if it's the original axle

It's not apparently since it no longer has the divorced transfer case and other important highboy features. The vin says its a highboy though, I think the cab is the only original highboy part left.
Ahh I never got the final decision on highboy or not. I'll go slide under the truck here in a bit and see if I can get a pic of what im talking about. Maybe someone else could tell you just from a pic.

There's a decent pic of it on page one I think if anybody can tell from there. There's no stabilizers or extra links off the rod like all the ones in LMC show which confuses me. Excuse my ignorance to all of this lol I'm new to the suspension/drivetrain part of this deal so bear with me, I'm trying to learn
