I was able to take the truck for a short road test today. The turbo performed above my expectations. I was able to see boost starting to build before 1800 rpms. It has a highly noticable turbo wistle just off idle and up out of the exhaust. The highest exhaust temp I was able to achieve when really getting into it was 800 degrees or a tad over, which tells me I need more fuel to take full advantage of this turbo. Right now I am just using a maxed out DB2. Boost starts to build at a much lower rpm then the upgraded factory turbo with 60:1 upgrade wheel I had before and at a greater rate. Even with the lower fuel level I am at the turbo responds very well.
Further testing will have to wait, unfortunatly, as an issue with my torque converter dictates the trans has to come out so I can send in the conveter to be repaired or replaced. Hopefully it is still under warrenty.
What did you hit for boost with that turbo and the Db2 out of curiosity?
I still need to adjust waste gate and noticed one small exhaust leak on the cross over pipe but easily hit 12 to 15, but not sure I totally trust my boost gauge. After I get the trans fixed I am going to hook up an additional mechanical gauge to varify my gauge. Better gauges are in the near future but alittle further away for now.
Another thing I noticed was the benifets of having a fully ceramic coated exhaust system under the hood. Underhood temp have been dramatically reduced and the pyro readings are faster to respond. Before the heat soaking of the cast parts had to happen before the pyro would reflect what was going on. Now the pyro reacts fast to the changing engine conditions. It has turned out to be one of the best places I spent money on for this project. After having done this I will not hesitate to do it again in the future and would highly recommend having the coatings done to anyone who is serious about wanting their system to be the best it can be.

If you don't mind me asking what does it cost to ceramic coat the exhaust system. I haven't ever looked into it so haven't a clue as to ballpark even. Also, where did you go about getting it done or finding a place to do it?
Also I'm curious about the Stage 1 can. From what you can tell do you like how it runs? Is the shop that made these willing to make them for others?

That isn't too bad on the boost numbers for having an exhaust leak. You also might be able net more boost after you mess with your timing a bit I'm sure as well. I look forward to seeing more updates.
Just alittle update, I pulled the trans last night and set the converter out today to be checked. Hope to here back from them by the first of the week. Thankfully if there is a problem with it, it is still under warrenty.
Just curious, what are you doing with your crank case ventilation? I see you kept the factory turbo CDR valve cover, but pics don't show what you did with it from there...

I ran it into the intake of the turbo just havent posted a picture showing it.
