Cruising 70-75 thru the flat country and mild rolling hills boost ran between 8-12 in the flats and mild hills ran 10-16 with egts ranging from 800-1000. When hitting the steaper longer hills that would have slowed me down in the past boost ran between 18-22 with egts peaking around 1100-1150 max.

I still need to do some adjustments to throttle sensor and possibly timing but over all the truck ran very well. I will be checking the truck all over tomorrow just to double check everything after the trip.
Those are great numbers for a real world tow scenario. That's awesome to hear man. I will have a very similar setup when it's all done. Sounds like It's all working together really well. You got me itching for an A3K of my own.

that's insane.i can't even do that running empty (granted empty is still 8k lbs.)
can you define "hill" as noted here, the gross combined weight, and also provide the tps settings at both idle and wot?

Gross weight was roughly 14800-15100. The hills I am talking about are the ones in south west minnesota and east and northeast South Dakota. Just alittle below having to be rated with signs but are several miles long on many of them. I dont remember exact settings on sensor but idle was approx 1.24-1.26 from memory. I know wot isnt quite set right as I have to lift off accelorator to get it to shift into OD.

he also has nearly twice the power of your truck. I pulled all grades through the cascades and rockies in od @ 65-75mph

i keep reading of builds with 25+ lbs of boost what is being done to create this much power without blowing the head gaskets? i realize studs, but safely going from 10 to 25 with studs and new gaskets? that seems like a lot.

what did you do xcite? i read that you removed some from the piston, but also decked the block, were the heads surfaced also? stock head gasket? intake manifold studs?

also did you sleeve all 8?

^^^ This. RacinNdrummin hit in the mid 30psi range with stock compression and NMB2 hit almost 40psi with lowered compression. There are even a few running over 20psi with stock bolts. I wouldn't recommend that as much though. Lol. Anyway with studs and bolts and stock compression you can easily run that much boost with no issues. Another thing you would need to upgrade would be the turbo. One of the turbos produced for these engines could do it but it won't be as efficient at that boost. It would heat up the air quite a bit...

In short you need studs, pump and turbo.

They're also running cams that bleed off some of the compression. It works.
