Do you have the roller rockers in yet? Did you need to modify the pushrods or do stock rods work? Harland Sharp's quote made me gulp a little, but I'm seriously considering a set, so I am interested in how you like yours...
New roller rockers are finally here, will be measuring for push rods tomorrow and get them ordered.
those are very nice!!!. do you have a contact person there? roller rockers SHOULD keep these engines from having valve dropping failures like I see in all the ones in local yards.

The guy who deals with the custom diesel rocker arms is Mike Becker (mike@harlandsharp.com). He quoted me $1,300 for the set. Like I said, made me gulp a little, but considering its a one-off special order it's not that bad. Especially since these are high end pieces in the Harland Sharp line up... Billet aluminum needle bearing folcrum type. These are not the only rocker sets they sell in the 4 digit bracket. Are they cost effective? Guess it depends whether you ask someone who ever had a valve drop into thei cylinder or not. I know that's rare, but I have taken a few junkyard engines apart now in my quest for a cam core and from what I've seen IDI rockers take it in the shorts. If these are as good as they seem, it would IMHO be one of the best things you could do for these engines as far as longevity and sustained valve train performance.

Ok, we all want to know what happened to the IDI. A lot of us are doing similar performance builds, we would like to know the weak link. What caused the engine to fail?
Sorry for no updates, but have been extremely busy with work for some time now.
There is absolutely no problems with the engine at this time. The DB4 on the other hand went out last fall. It first developed the no start when hot issue and the next day while driving it to the shop I was going to use it totally quit while driving. I have not disassembled it to see what caused the final failure at this time. I am currently running a maxed out DB2 and engine still runs great.
I am waiting on my other DB4 to be completed but have removed this truck as my primary vehicle and will be using it as a backup and occasional driver/hauler.
I am currently running a 550 HP 08 F350 crew cab as my primary unit.
