I will say I really like this forum a lot better than psn, a lot of the same guys for idi's without the psd naysayers. The Chevy guy brags about 275rwhp in dp, he just needs to see these 6.9/7.3's screaming with 400/800+! Can't wait to see the look on peoples faces when they just got beat by a 6.9.

Funny thing is about the chevys iw that 275 is probably only 475 tq.

Couldnt agree more, ive been to OB, PSN, and one more i cant remember.. FTE is alot more mature and balanced. It has its moments and its members, but on the whole alot nicer than the others to choose from.

Well while waiting to be able to buy a turbo, which could be mid to late spring (planting/fitting season) I am going to try propane injection, my boss has most parts I am certain he will give me, and I have read into it, and it seems like a very good boost in power, expecially for use of all the excess fuel I have. I'll post up pics when I get it finished, but I am hoping that it will do what I hope, the article I read made a 22second 0-60 into a 16second 0-60, and right now I.have a 17 second time, who knows.

Another thing is not to add to much and it will be safer. The guys who mess up their engine either add too much and don't notice the knocking or don't monitor egts like the guy previously mentioned. There are quite a few guys running propane with no problems and I would run it if I didn't already have water/methanol. Plus a good setup will make more power than a w/m kit from what I have read and is just as safe cus unmonitored w/m can cause just as much damage as well.

I also would make sure to make your design boost referenced. There is more power in a setup like that and that will prevent it from coming on too soon, which also makes it safer as well. I have actually heard of home made boost referenced 2-stages setups as well and even a 3-stage setup. I'm not quite sure where I read about it but it sounds like a cool setup. It would act similar to the variable valves like you can buy in other propane kits...

Well I'm not sure I would run it after I get the turbo on, I am looking for more of a n/a jump in power, after my turbo setup is done, I'll have water meth, and have even looked at a couple nitrous kits.

http://members.shaw.ca/k2pilot/Propane%20article.html

Thats the article I read on it, very simple setup, not too extreme. And good results.

If I where I would not run propane without a turbo. Since you already have to much fuel adding more will just make matters worse for you. Before you can add more fuel you need more Oxygen in the mix.

I agree with Xcite. I wouldn't do it without boost. Your egts would go pretty high I would think.

The propane is not another source of fuel, it is supposed to act as a catalyst to help the fuel burn more completely. As the more boost and efficiency I obtain from the turbo, the less efficiently the propane will be. I would be sure to monitor egts.

Its hard to control the burn of propane, thats why you don't see to many kits any more. It works great but can blow your motor very easy. A turbo would be much better with propane then without. Good luck with it but lots of guys have had bad luck.

Well today I searched CL and found this.
http://limaohio.craigslist.org/pts/3629701193.html

Just the turbo I am using (64mm version) is $1100, this would be an awesome deal for trying out a turbo setup.

Love the build

Love the build, i am on my first diesel also, (1992 f250 7.3 idi na) and am getting ready to park it n do a frame off. My question is, where can i find chrome for this engine? I did some google searching and haven't really come up with much. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

That's a good question, my engine is going to be cat yellow, and the truck is murdered, but the engine dressing stuff would almost have to be custom done, having stuff Chrome plated, that would probably be your better bet. They just dip the parts you want chrome.
