Thanks guys...it will get sorted out. Worst comes to worst, we camp with the wife's Acadia and a couple more parents have to dive to haul gear. I'm not going to worry about it.
I noticed a typo...we camp from Wed-Sat. Not for just one night...lol.
good luck on getting it fixed.
if it was a low fuel pressure issue, the system would tell you - mine did.
I could see how an alternator could fry a PCM, but don't know how it could cause an issue with the idle.
The tech's theory is the alternator damaged the PCM which started a series of catastrophic failures until it eventually completely failed. He didn't share what lead him to that conclusion other than the alternator is confirmed to be a bad. He seemed pretty confident he had it licked now. I hope he is right...

Ecu is prolly shutting down to protect itself causing the idle problem. Going down the road it must have been a sudden failure of the alternator as to not get the opportunity to shut down.
Thanks guys...I'm really trying to stay positive, but I'm having trouble. I think I will check in with the dealership on Friday. If my truck isn't fixed, I'm going to have it towed to the dealership in my home town. The truck is currently 90 miles away. I didn't buy a truck to be without one. I have a vacation starting the 20th of July. First one in 9 years. Cabin is prepaid for (only way they will rent them). Supposed to haul the four wheelers out there and ride for a week. If I don't have my truck...well you can imagine my frustration.
