This evening I took the wifey out to eat and then showed her where we rode today in the Sand Flats Recreation Area near Moab. It was the least I could do since she spent the day cleaning the fiver and doing the laundry, while we went out to play in the dirt.
I'm having way too much fun!
The hardest thing about going to Moab is when it comes time to leave. We head down there Saturday. I can't wait.

I'm convinced that this is where my family is going after South Dakota. Likely summer of 2013. I'd love to see a photo album and hear/read any advice you have to share. Tips on securing good trail maps or gps maps are welcome too!
Enjoy your vacation and fill me in when you get time!
Before I left, I hit the scales and wouldn't you know it, the dump scale was right on. The "certified" scales had it 21,780 pounds with me in it and nearly a full tank of gas. I don't have the ticket in front of me, but front axle was 5000+, rear axle 7900+, and trailer axles 8600+ if I remember correctly.
The truck had no problem pulling the trailer and I got right at 11 mpg driving 65-68 mph. But I didn't buy it for mileage! It does take some getting used to and I almost got "stuck" when pulling into a smaller station.
I'm looking forward to many more miles once I go FULL-TIME and will post pics of the completed rig when finished!
You think its a good idea Roy, I did about 10 trailers when I worked there & every one of them was happy with the lift, it helps to clear the plumbing too.......
The next time the wife goes in to do her business, I'll tell her that...
Let me know what happens....... But... Wait until she is sitting down before you tell her about the Snake
OH... Don't forget to take pictures....... Pictures of YOU with all the bruses and broken bones....
OK Roy, question for ya. We all know I am pretty damn proud of my 3 little green reputation beans. Or at least I was until I noticed you have 11 now. What the heck is going on? Didn't you just have like 5 a couple of weeks ago? Reputation / post you GOTTA be the most popular guy on FTE by a long way. Nice work Roy!!!!!!!!
Some people do reconize genius when they see it
