This evening I took the wifey out to eat and then showed her where we rode today in the Sand Flats Recreation Area near Moab. It was the least I could do since she spent the day cleaning the fiver and doing the laundry, while we went out to play in the dirt.

I was so ticked, I forgot to throw in a camera before we left so I had to use my phone.

BTW - The Black Hills area is a great place for kids.

Well, it finally happened to me!!
I got 680 miles on the 48'er yesterday!
Before I left, I hit the scales and wouldn't you know it, the dump scale was right on. The "certified" scales had it 21,780 pounds with me in it and nearly a full tank of gas. I don't have the ticket in front of me, but front axle was 5000+, rear axle 7900+, and trailer axles 8600+ if I remember correctly.
The truck had no problem pulling the trailer and I got right at 11 mpg driving 65-68 mph.
But I didn't buy it for mileage!
It does take some getting used to and I almost got "stuck" when pulling into a smaller station.
I'm looking forward to many more miles once I go FULL-TIME and will post pics of the completed rig when finished!
