i hardly ever run to empty normally fill up @ 1/4 tank.
what pisses me off about this truck is the needle hits E when i have 7-9 gallons left!!!! my 2 other excursions did not go to E or the light on untill i had 2-4 gallons left. i should be able to go down in 10 gallon increments but this truck doesnt do that..idk why. i replaced the fuel pump/sending unit and no change.
my Ex is a 2002 V10 yes. all my Ex's have been V10s i would not have any other engine.
Miles, it was 310 miles and 37.5 gallons. 8.2 mpg baby!! i actually filled up all 3 trucks yesterday. cost me $280 in fuel.

expedition 10.7 mpg
explorer 13mpg

i'll keep cheaper by in, heat in winter, reliability...oh i could go on but i wont :-p just kidding of course!

MPG is climbing back up to near 10mpg around town. amazing!
after sitting for 5 days she did not have the power to fire. this is after replacing a bad battery this winter from the same issue. going to do some testing and see if i have a draw or another bad battery.
i just ordered Hawk brake pads all around. hoping to see a slight improvement and less fading under consistent heavy braking.
but i decided to install a permanent 2 AMP trickle charger just in case. so when its parked for more then a day it will be plugged in..then i dont have to worry.
well i had the bumper/grill off i rewired my lights and also installed a 2013 super duty lower valance. i plan to paint it to match the lower tan trim like i did my stock valance. it is making contact with the "blocker beam" so i need to fix that also. otherwise i like the look!
pics from today....first is at work next to my boss's Lincoln Mark LT the same color as my excursion/explorer
right after work...looking fresh in the sunlight. needs a detailing so bad though!!!!

new truck looks sweet ccbrett! have a safe trip up.
took a trip down to Seward,AK on memorial day. truck ran wonderful plenty of power as always and i was able to muster 13.5mpg even with the mountain pass and slow drivers i have to pass lol i'll share the pics and vids...there are alot!
stopped for lunch at Rays waterfront
headed out to lowell point to see my great uncle, check out his new trailer and see the new to me travel trailer i'll be picking up within a few weeks.
headed back into seward to walk around town and check out the shops
headed home

i broke the $10,000 mark in fuel used since buying the Ex on 10-30-10!
current mileage as of tonight
random pics of the last month or so
the weather this summer has been amazingly hot and sunny! this is a rare AWESOME summer. i'm not complaining but we are not used to this kind of heat.
on July 2nd the Ex is going in to have the front seal replaced on the tranny. it currently has the old style seal that will heat up and cause the tranny to puke when it gets warm. its fine when not towing but when towing it starts leaking.
