New Pics & Random Stuff
yes, if your not used to 6 months of snow and about 2 months of what feels like pitch black it may not seem like something you would want to deal with. being born and raised here i'm just used to it, the great offset is summer you have the amazing midnight sun! 3am and its still sunny and beautiful outside
its the price we pay i guess lolso a friend got a hotel room for the weekend and invited us over, stayed there last night then did some shopping today and decided since it was so sunny and awesome out we would take a small drive down to Girdwood,Alaska about 60 miles round trip.
so after spending alittle more then i should have at the mall, but heaving a great parking spot

we headed out of town..the skys were blue and the sun was shining. allthough it was below freezing the spring sun actually causes melting..unlike early/mid winter when the sun means its colder(weird i know)

so the last time i had my picture taken with a excursion it was my old '04 XLT right after i bought it almost 3 years to the day (3/23/09) so i decided i needed a new pic with my '02 limited...pic is taken in the same highway pull off as the first pic.
3/23/09 me with my old 2004

today 3/18/12 with my 2002

now with that out of the way..some pics of the excursion... filthy i might add. march and april are our "break up" months when the snow/ice starts to melt and the roads become covered in a nasty brown water..which leaves a nasty brown filth sometimes so thick it becomes a protective layer haha so from now till prolly may with as much snow as we have i will not be able to keep her clean.

okay onward to Girdwood, this is a small town centered around a ski resort this is there peak season and with record breaking snowfall they are doing wonderful!
issue is at the resort people dont know how to park haha i barley made it through one section

look how tall that snow is

headed back to town, we are really spoiled with the amazing views everywhere.

by the time i got back into town i had nasty ice built up all over! yuck

there ya go...enjoy another little trip/pics in the great state of AK
