New Pics & Random Stuff
so i had a new windshield installed last week. turns out as i already kinda knew the dealer i bought it from used a crappy installer when they put a new windshield in when i bought it. they did not prep it correctly and caused slight rust under window. my guy cleaned it all up, primed and sealed it all up and put a correct fitting window in so no more wind noise! i'm very happy. hopefully it will last a year...fingers crossed.

i broke my antenna off in the base so i had to replace that..pain in the ***.

i added my warning sticker hehe

new LED reverse lights

new LED running board lights

alrighty, so about a month ago i took my travel trailer out for the first camping trip. truck towed perfectly and got decent mileage. pics are in no order...enjoy!
vids first i suppose.

few updates over the fall/winter including chrome step bars,08-up mirrors, new shocks and ball joints, amber LED side marker lights, finally put a muffler on it 28" glass pack 3"...i think that's it?

enjoy the pics!
at the house about to take off

On the road! LOVE the new Mirrors, extended out they show you everything

On the road!

Stopped in Palmer,AK for some TacoBell then on to the camp site.

Made it to camp

The second day the smoke from the wildfires moved in..we had to run back into a little town called Sutton to get a few things

On the way into sutton we encountered a rock slide. luckily a State DOT truck with a BOSS V Snow plow that i'm pretty sure i did the install on, was able to clear a lane to keep the highway open.

when we got back i charged the trailer battery a little, i put a brand new deep cycle in it before leaving and it worked very well. had to keep the heater on all night as it went down to 34F at night.

Went for a little hike down by the river...

This pic was taken at midnight...gotta love the land of the midnight sun!

Woke up this morning to Ash from the wild fires covering the truck...
Glass pack sounds great! still has a nice rumble but it mellowed out the tones and got rid of the raspy-ness it had. It made towing the trailer much more enjoyable...no more crazy drone.
The rear marker light/brake lights (it does left/right and marker) was a random buy off ebay. So were the clear/amber LEDs i added to the rockers. I'll see what i can dig up though.
I just filled up and turns out i got 8.3 MPG towing the trailer..i feel pretty good about that since i ran it pretty hard.
heres the vid of the glass pack
I Rolled 135k over the weekend also and i missed it by 50 miles

Ford Trucks for Ford Truck Enthusiasts
I though this was funny, my current '02 Ex by my old '04 Ex...my taste has not changed much. same tires, 20" wheels, same amount of lift, chrome step bars, same color paint....
The next day i woke up cold, rolled over and hit the remote start and the Excursion warmed up pretty quick and i shut it off and went back to sleep. At 8AM we decided to get up and hit the road again, sun shining it was going to be a beautiful day. We saw plenty of caribou, rabbits, moose, porcupine..ect the views were amazing. In the whole trip we passed one other car and it was near the end of the road..pretty awesome!
Made it to Paxson, AK then headed to Glennallen, made it there by 11AM. Stopped and had a few snacks and started home. Traffic heading north was heavy, everyone leaving for the long memorial day weekend but traffic heading south was light. I was able to keep my cruising speeds where i liked most of the time. We made it home by 3PM Friday having travled 620 or so miles in less then 24 hours, with some amazing views!
I love that i can jump in my 13 year old Ex and take off to the middle of nowhere without a worry! All well getting decent MPG considering the conditions and my driving style.
the route

Washed up in the driveway before leaving

First place we stopped off on the side of the Denali Highway

Second little stop.
