someday my collection will come back out of the boxes...been packed up for almost 5 years. i bought a Canadian lantern (number escapes me at the moment) a year ago...been staring at it on my desk... someday I'll fix it
im sure they will, considering how rough some are that we bring back.
i was at a local farm show a few weeks ago showing off my 1950 ford truck and saw a group with tables set up showing off their Coleman collection. struck up a conversation and lo behold it was a couple local members from CCF. i think one of them sent me a PM but i haven't read it yet as i don't get on my laptop much anymore at least during the summer, coming winter will likely drive me into more of my indoor projects.
Hey, did you get the reverse working on the F250? I recall you were always thinking ahead on an exit plan when in Kali.
i did back in 2018 when i had to move i sold off a Cummins 6BT diesel engine i had acquired which netted me the funds to have the transmission rebuilt. i was sad to sell such a sweet deal of an engine but with the 1st move i needed my truck, and then 8 months later the unplanned move to Colorado i needed 4x4. i even sold the 95 Econoline van before the move out of state. i regret selling the van, was a good horse.
No, not yet. Just brought it home and parked it for now.. looks like it should be ok, but need to leak check it first.
I’ll just keep picking them up when I see one. Some day projects.
By chance, is there a good book recommended on these? A guide, or history for them?
Coleman collectors forum is a good resource. Not sure if its in print still but there was a book relased that covered alot of the coleman products. About as thick as a dictionary.
It warms my heart that this is such an ongoing hobby. My Coleman lantern that I inherited from my dad needs some love, but the Coleman stove I got from his still gets regular use. I take it camping and make my coffee on it even though I also carry TWO propane stoves in the trailer as well. Nothing like that green paint on your picnic table to make camp feel like home.
Thank you. I’d like to know what model these all are, or how to identify them. I really have no idea how to do that.
I’ll head over to the Coleman forum one day and ask.
Yours will say on the aluminum collar between the tank and burner looks to be a 220F or a letter or two after that....im rusty on my lantern id. Super easy to work on parts are available. Like a carburetor if runs bad clean it and it will run good again

Yes, that’s what it is. Thanks for the heads up. I asked over at the Coleman forum, I didn’t see it the other day and couldn’t for the life of me remember where it was on there. I figured I was missing something, lol.
