I can't rememer who it was but on one of those evil news stations,,, they were interviewing a person that worked for one of those groups that HATE guns - made this comment...
"Remember, for every registered gun THESE PEOPLE have, they have one that is not registered"... What the F???... - "THESE PEOPLE"... Before I could get the name of the person that made that comment, they switched the channel...
This is no longer my country I bled for, and I fear for the direction its going. If the UN pushes this gun control thing through without any vote from 'WE THE PEOPLE', I fear whats next. BAD GUYS WILL ALWAYS GET GUNS.

What record? Do you really believe there is some big top secret national gun registry? If they do know you have guns, what happens if you say you sold most of them? There's no record keeping or reporting requirements for private sales of firearms.

Besides, are you more scared of big brother trying to take your guns away, or some drugged out idiot that might want to do harm to your or your family?

BATF most certainly keeps record of all FFL sales. Private sales, not so much. I trust neither over zealous government or drugged out idiots.

Do they? And what do these records contain? Are you referring to dealers who go out of business and turn their records over to the ATF, or are you referring to the FFL keeping a copy of the 4473 in their possession? Or is it some National Gun Registry database that I'm not aware of?

It's not NCIS checks from form 4473, federal law specifically bans using that data to compile a firearms registry, and I believe that check data is dumped daily. Besides, there are those of us who are allowed to buy firearms without a NCIS check.

Even without the NCIC check (i'm in same boat - no checks), the sales is still documented. BATF has access to the record. They may not call it a federal registry but ATF still has access to them 24/7. Call it what you like.

It doesn't matter to me anyway, I lost all my firearms in a tragic boating accident.

No, actually I let the wife talk me into going shopping with her for a pair of walking shoes, that I'm not sure really exist. I've been out in the sun all week so a day in the AC sounded fine. About the 5th stop looking for these mystical beasts, we ended up at Academy. I got lost in the store and somehow ended up at the gun counter. They had this tucked way in the back corner where you could barely see it, and would only know what it was if you knew what it was.

They said it came in last night and everyone who worked at the counter had a bet going as to how long this would last. They didn't tell me who won.

Even my tried and true Ruger dealers around here haven't been able to procure one of those for me. I gave up on Academy preferring to keep my $$$ local. Guess I'm gonna have to wonder over there tomorrow after church and see if they have one tucked in the corner, too.

I had already talked to the local dealers, even the big one who is a direct to LE retailer for Ruger. Everyone offered to put me on their list, but I had given up owning one of these for at least a couple of years.

I'm not a fan of Ruger autos, but there is always an exception! Sweet 191. Mandatory range report is expected!

Now I'm really wishing I had bought an assault rifle and ammo back when I had the money. I saw on TV that 57% of people are in favor of some kind of gun control after these last mass shootings. Now everybody's swarming the gun stores and jacking up the prices. Stupid me! Guess now I'll have to wait for this to all blow over before I can afford one again. For the record, I predict nothing will come of this "gun control" except higher prices and maybe a limit on high ammo clips.

Hey Wood how's it going. Yep better run out and start buying up everything that can be used as a lethal weapon.

I understand that something needs to be done beside the instant knee jerk reaction.

I also understand that its very hard to get a adult help now days if they dont want any.

Hopefully something will be meaningful from all of the miss fortune. But to do that it would take real leaders not those that are playing the here and now politics game.

Real leaders are in short supply.

sorry for the thread jacking.
