That's what I was thinking, but I also remember reading on here that there were so many special ordered trucks back then, that I don't think its too far fetched that someone managed to find a dealer that would do it. Without knowing the VIN there's no way to prove or disprove it.
As far as I know there was no factory 428 SCJ offered after 1970 ( And that was a Mustang ) . And I've never seen a 428 SCJ in any truck from the factory. Unless it was being hauled in the box!!
And the "C6ME-A" would be a 66 engine and there was no SCJ in 66.
I'm pretty sure the 428 SCJ's were a 68 or 69-70 deal.

According to this site, the 390 and 428 share the C6ME-A casting. But it doesn't mention SCJ's.

Not only was that engine not available with these trucks, the only FE you could get in a 4x4 was a 360.
You can't trust a lot of stuff on the internet, with out cold hard facts, like a build sheet from Marti that is just a regular run-of-the-mill '73 F-250, which are very common.

I Posted on the page calling them out for proof that it's numbers matching. Doubt it ever gets proven tho.

the article is crap anyway. Just because the truck is clean doesn't mean its factory or "spec'd from the factory" or any of that crap. The guy added a 90's radio and they aren't trying to pass that off as a factory option...

The 428 was a factory option

include photos of the engine numbers , as the last 428 scj was built in 1971 ,if you do have one it's not factory, it's a custom install which was pretty common in those days

No Ford pickup ever came with a 428. period.
I have a '76 high boy with a 428 CJ and it has factory 428CJ emblems under the F250 emblem on the fender. it has a 428CJ decal on the air cleaner too, and I put them there so it means nothing.
