An acquaintance swears up and down that his 65 ford truck got a dealer installed warranty 427 service block. Not sure if true or not, but it sure was quick!
Worked with a guy who swapped in a bone stock 69 Lincoln 429 into his high boy and proceeded to break everything in his driveline. Broken u joints, pretzeled driveshafts, exploded clutch packs. Crazy torque.

Lots of stuff was done by dealers. That is different from a production line built model. There's lots of tuners/dealers that offer/offered performance mods or models.
