Here is the link: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...-and-play.html

There is a series 200 now available that gives you a shock sensor and an LED over the 100 series.

It is very odd that so far only 2 of us can use this function. And just FYI, I don't have the high idle mod, so it's not related to that. Maybe we should start a new thread titled "Cool Down Feature" or something like that to get more members to read and respond.

Yes, you guys have indeed put the "LIMITED" in Limited Edition Remote Start or better yet, "Limited Edition Cool Down". Not everyone, including Shane can claim he has the LECD!

Yeah, I skipped over this thread for awhile because of the title.
I already knew about the "Remote Start" but just happened to venture on in here and give it a read....
I think if more people would read about it we would find out more people can do this.

I'll start a new thread/poll and i will upload a new video and the old one.
I am off work today and got the camera all charged up so I will go out and try to make a video of how it will and wont work.
Hopefully it doesn't upset the mods or others but I would guess we have more than 2 trucks out there that can do this.

Ah, my friend, that is indeed the question to ask. Not sure which of the control modules are involved in your LECD function, but if it gets updated, I suspect there is a chance you will have the "NECD" (Non -Existent Cool Down)

yeah, not sure what wires are crossed where but wouldn't it be nice if Ford would figure it out and offer it as a function.
Like others have said, some vehicles can and are supposed to do this... and these trucks abviously can too.

I think alot of guys would like to have the option to do this and I would like to keep it

I like the "LECD".... I am going to steal it and use it.

I tried the cool down a couple different ways today and all I got was the horn honk and the engine shutting off using the "original" method (door open, engine running, lock+2x engine, turn off key and pull out).

Skipping the lock button and going to the two engine button hits didn't do anything. I thought maybe since the truck was already running just hitting the two engine buttons might work but no luck.

This would be neat to get to work though....

This is what I posted in the cool down thread;

I think it is the timing....
I have an early build 1 with limited editiion seats, lariat Ultimate with nav etc...and yes, lock pick.

At first when I tried this, it didnt work. Then today when I went out, I tried it again and it worked! So, I thought it had to do with driving over a certain speed. NOT. I got home and tried it again once I got to the driveway and it did not work. So I sat in the driveway for 30 minutes experimenting and this is what I discovered;
Doesnt mater if you drove or put your foot on the brake or touched the gearshift lever.
truck is running, open door or dont, get out, or dont doesnt matter.
make sure you put the key unto the ignition so you can see the buttons.
  • hit lock once, hold for 1 mississippi and release.
  • hit start twice and hold for a mississippi each and release
  • Immediately after your thumb leaves the button after the second release, pull the key out fast. Like your supposed to swipe a credit card.
Once I followed this routine, it worked every time. Now you guys try it and someone please start a poll!

This totally worked!!! This is great! I fallowed your formula, and the second time it worked, first time there was a little pause before getting the key out. The truck shuts off for about 1/2 a second until the key comes out then turns back on, kinda like a hick-up. I walked away, pressed the start button again to shut it off.

It seems to work best for me if I pull out slightly on the key as I turn it off, so that it is all one motion!

Thanks for figuring this out for me Cabindoc!

I can get it to work 30 percent of the time..kinda weird.I tird Emergency break....everything,,it all depends on the timing of thr key pull and how long you hold the lock button...just can't quite perfect it yet.

I'll be trying it tomorrow, I always let it run in a rest stop, would be great to get out right away and stretch the legs.

Not yet, still trying...

I did get a delayed honk at one point but I haven't spent as much time on it as I've been wanting to.
