That load is just mis balanced for that horse to be pulling. The rails are actually lifting the horse so it can't get good footing is my guess.

The passenger side leafspring seems to be disconnected. Massive blocks too.

Thanks for kicking this one off. I love to see all of the varieties that these trucks were used for. There is a '48-50 concrete truck at a concrete plant in Boone, NC
that I will have to take a shot of, the next time I get there.

That is pretty cool, I wonder if there was a side car on that where you see the spare tire. I noticed the car in the picture is anchored down to unless it was supposed to pull something..
