I don't have a picture but driving back to work from lunch yesterday I saw an 65 Mustang with a continental kit.
That sure changed the look of that car. That definitely would not be my aesthetic choice. Maybe I will get a chance to see it again and capture a picture.
That one looks better than the one I saw and that one is ugly. The one I saw had black material covering it and I think it was sitting a little higher.
I will keep an eye out for it in the future.

This picture is certainly odd, but maybe not for the reasons you're thinking. The door lettering shows the name of a DeSoto-Plymouth dealer. The tailgate oddly says GMC Trucks, and one wouldn't think that the two motor companies would allow the same dealer to sell both brands. But if that's not odd enough, the cute little truck is another different brand, a 1947 Crosley.
That is interesting, Wayne. Thanks. The door says Caldwell. I know there is a Caldwell University in New Jersey.
To add another oddity to this dealership, I googled Malcom Konner. Malcom Konner was a Chevrolet dealership. From the 70's until it was sold in 1996 it was known as the largest Corvette dealer in the nation. In 1986 Chevy made 50 Malcolm Konner Commemorative special edition Corvettes for the dealership.
It is called Paramus Chevrolet along route 17 in Paramus, NJ.

Malcolm Konner desoto plymouth was originally in Caldwell NJ, started around 1935.
he later moved to Paramus NJ on Rt 17, where he specialized in corvette sales, but also sold other GM cars too. with AT least one brand new of each year zero mile corvette sold in a warehouse/museum on the second floor of the dealership.
name was changed to Paramus Chevrolet around 96 or 97, but i dont know if the family sold or still owns it.
a tour of the second floor museum was a real treat.

interesting. It is not unusual for dealerships in to have dual franchises. I put several of them in business when I worked in the Atlanta Zone office of AMC/Jeep. Usually in smaller towns but not always. All auto manufacturers these days have disenfranchised most smaller dealerships that don’t meet their franchise obligations. Also brands like Plymouth, Pontiac, Mercury and others are no more which increases the sales volume at dealerships that remain.
Not necessarily. Perhaps you're not familiar with the Dodge Sweptside pickup. I will admit I don't recall ever seeing a DeSoto version. https://www.motorbiscuit.com/strange...ptside-pickup/ I remember one driving around when I was a kid, thinking even then it looked goofy and home made.
