We went to our niece's engagement party today. Her fiance's father showed me his deceased father-in-law's two mustangs. Both were in a garage but were dusty.
One was a Bullitt clone. It looked very nice. It is not an odd ball.
Here is the odd ball. A 68 mustang fastback with an open front end powered by a big flathead. The flathead is a 337 that came out of big tanker truck. See the pics:

I don't think mustangs came with cowl vents! I guess this old timer liked the rush of fresh air at his feet. The vent looks familiar doesn't it.
They may have been down to $750 vs $500 for a hardtop. I bought one for $300 in '86 in a locked motor/distress situation. Tore it down and sold it as a basket case to a buddy a few months later in anticipation of my own distress. $500. I could kick myself....
In keeping with the spirit of this thread, even though I have no pictures, I believe both of the above sales to have been "oddball " situations.
