You should find out who has it now and tell them about the "Offroad Wrecker Olympics." Although, I'm not sure how that tire combo would work in the SW Utah sand.

only difference was flip up sides
Yea, I think they were called "Boonie Bugs" or something like that. I remember back in the day Dad getting catalogs in the mail; JC Whitney, etc. There were also several Dune Buggy catalogs and I remember seeing ads for these kit as well as the standard dune buggy type body's form Manx, etc
It's a shame it didn't make it to production. Done right, after the bean counters got done with it, it could have been the savior for AMC before Iacocca came to market with the Mopar Mini-vans. The front styling looks to have been copied by both Ford and Chrysler a few years later; the Escort EXP used those bugeyed headlights, and the Dodge Omni copied the grille.
I was there, but never was even close to buying a leisure suit. Not any big turtle necks either-- bell-bottom pants were likewise avoided as were shorts. The only exception was our Sea Scout uniforms which were done in old school Navy style. Actually I dressed not so differently then I do today--jeans and a long sleeve button down dress shirt was my usual. As a teacher though, I always dressed up--dress pants and shirt and a tie--often paired with a sports jacket or suit coat--never ever in a get-up like your picture. As you know Wayne, I am in all things--very conservative. Now taking my old (sometimes unreliable) truck out alone on 1,000 mile adventures might be a possible exception though. LOL.
