i actually had a King Midget.......for about 45 minutes. bought a 1956 at a swap meet around 80 or 81 for $40.
drove it up into the back of my 66 dodge W300 pickup and was on leaving to go to the body shop and drop it off there when a guy stopped me at the gate on the way out.
he HAD TO HAVE IT!!! offered me $750. then as i was getting ready to unload it for him, he offered me $1,000 for the truck.
i took him to the house and signed the title and off he went. i only paid $300 for that truck about 6 month earlier.
I ran across this today and thought you might enjoy it. No Fords but some cool oddball stuff. https://youtu.be/03JccH12_v0
For those who may not know about this Lane Museum, it is located right here in Nashville. Very laid back and full of unusual vehicles. If you are visiting Nashville, and can pull yourself away from the honky tonks, check it out.
So, I was driving to North Missouri and came up behind this.
What in the heck? Did they take a two wheel truck and make it a dually? The outside wheels were only had the fenders cover a couple of inches of the tire.

Looks like an axle from a class 7 or 8 truck with smaller tires.
look at the space between the tires. he has wheel spacers in there. and would not be surprised if he has them between the inner tire and axle flange too.

Actually not, Outside width on those axles are 8’ (96’). Those in the pic are well beyond the max allowable 102” on interstate highways. Said dipstick in pic will likely get busted for overwidth before too long, maybe even for wheels extending beyond fenders, and a plethora of other things depending on how much lip he/she gives the officer when pulled over.
That truck might have spacers but for than likely it has larger offset rims. You can buy them all over the place. Lots of the four wheel drive guys like to "stance" their trucks this way right now. They think it is "cool". Different mods for different people. I see it a lot in the little town I live in. Depending on where you live will guide how far out the tires can stick past the fenders, most not very far. But the real problem comes when they look at the side of there truck and find stone chips everywhere.
It sure is interesting how much money these guys will pay for a big ol' dually and then spend tons more money decreasing the towing capacity of the thing.....lol

Running joke around here is that the bigger the truck the smaller the p___________s
Guys making up for their inadequacies. Everyone can spend their money anyway they want. so here have boat loads into their trucks. I know, I'm one.
