I think you're talking about the Kalamazoo Manufacturing ones I posted at the beginning of this post, similar but different. I don't think they were built by the same place.
That's what they look like. You don't see those around much anymore. I'd say it's a fine use for them. The only thing that would be better is if it were flatty powered.
