That's it, Torklift. Why the dual receivers though? I'm sure it's for a purpose, but I can't ever remember going to hook up and thinking man, if I only had another receiver tube back here...

It is a handy carryover from their hitch for truck campers who tow trailers behind and need an extension drawbar, Torlifts SuperTruss extension uses both holes for added strength and less flex. It has proven useful for us as we started out using the top hole with our Hensley stinger dropped down for our TT then after we upgraded to 16" tires, new 7000lb axles and springs from the factory 5200lb ones we now use the bottom hole with the stinger flipped for a rise to keep the TT level. So those two holes offer some adjustability to fixed rise/drop drawbars and increase the range of adjustable drawbars. And it looks cool.
I stopped at a local RV place today and they were trying hard to sell me the Anderson WD hitch setup. I've never seen one before. Anyone running one or have feedback? It's about one fifth the cost of the PP , but I'm not convinced it's any better than my current standard WD with the bars.
We took the boat out today for about 1 hr, just a cruise.Sat by the water and went into town to buy some ice cream. Now we are waiting for a thunderstorm to pass.
On the way home last weekend we sustained some damage to the top front corner of the TT. We discovered it when we blew a tire and pulled over to change it. (Ordered 5 Goodyear endurance tires, they arrived yesterday, install next week). I couldn't figure out how the damage happened, figured it must have been the windy day and/or a gust from a passing truck.
When I pulled the skin up to examine the extent of the damage I found a small piece of a pine branch in the hole above the marker light, so maybe I contacted a branch. I was pretty sure I had avoided any of that sort of thing on the 45 miles of tight-ish road we had been on earlier but whatever the cause I'm busy repairing today.
Original support was two crosspieces, the too one of which had fallen out of place and the other was floppy. I installed more crosspieces, angle brackets, gussets etc.
I decided I wanted more complete support without all the space between the 2x2's so I took some 1/4" luan type product and fastened that over the cross members.
Got it ready to lay the skin back.
About then it started raining again so I'm taking a cold beverage break. Looks like I'm going to have to get back at it though. Rain has moved on.
This is my 05 6.8 2wd
5 kids 2 adults and a 21 ft boat with a 5.7
I normally tow w my ram mega cab 2500 6.7 Cummins, but we were loaded w kids, to took the beast.
My first tow as only had the X a few monthsActually handled and rode better than my 2500
Def does not have the torque, but no problems whatsoever towing. Just a different feel as expected.
Really really pleased with the truck, it's functionality and it's power.
I used to be the "value player" in truck and trailer tires, I tried 'em all. It was a lesson hard-learned. From now on I'm Goodyear for the trailer and Michelin LTX for the truck.
Spent our first weekend at the new property. Going to building where the campers are parked. Had some relaxation and got a lot of work done over the weekend.
24 acres, 12 wooded 12 tilled last year. Lots of dead ash trees and honeysuckle. Had a state forester out yesterday to start our EQIP planning, hoping for some grant money to help pay for what we are going to do anyway. The 24 acres are going to be split between my brother and his family and me and mine. Mom and dad live a creek away.
If the driveway continued into the woods past the campers there is another 46 acres I'm trying to secure also. It's all woods and would stay that way.
Well I just picked up 5 mounted and balanced Goodyear Endurance tires for the TT. Does anyone have a tire pressure recommendation? 30' coachmen empty weight 6670# , max according to the label about 8700#. I haven't been across the scale with it loaded so not sure on my actual weight. Guy at the tire shop said 70 psi, but I'm about 110% sure he was just guessing...
