Looks good and I'm glad you are finished (or nearly so?) with it!
Just few observation though, and I'm not trying to be nit-picky but in your hitched picture the chain hooks are clipped to the hitch backwards, they should always be clipped from underneath vs over the top like shown. The reason that is a DOT standard is pretty much negated by the mouse latches on the hook mouth by it is still the recommended position. And your breakaway cable should be attached to the tow vehicle frame/ bumper and not to the chains or the receiver hitch, that is to keep the system in play in the event of a hitch failure.

The Ex has a wonderful bumper eye for the breakaway cable connection.

Yep, that's where I clip mine, but I'm not sure if the late model bumper Carter uses has that same eye.

I also use a

Keeps the cable on top of the hitch and not getting in the way of the pivot head.

Keen eye there. This was a staged photo and no care was given as to safety chain or breakaway orientation.

Your points are valid though and might help out someone. I always cross the chains (less impact on the HAHA though) and hook from the bottom. The '08 bumper no longer has those little loops for the breakaway cable I need to put a eye bolt into the bumper somewhere because looping the cable back to itself through the chain hole sucks.

No it looks a bit deceiving in pic. It was beginning of season on the beach and they didn't rake dune down yet with tractor so we had to dig out section to back trailer in Pulling out was the easy part ha ha

It helped me. I had no idea that the chains were supposed to be attached from the bottom.

I wonder how many of those other little tidbits are out there that I don't even know to ask about.

Mission accomplished!

Seriously though I am glad you picked this up. I often wonder how people who have never been around this type of stuff do it. They drive into a RV dealer and are at the mercy of the salesman to provide the needed info to protect there investment and family's life.
