I was almost certain that my trailer dry weight was around 2800#, but I decided to go out and verify. It turns out that I have made a mistake when I first bought the trailer, that I never went back and questioned. I'm glad you all spoke up and questioned me.
To give myself half an out though, take notice of the yellow tag on the right. For some reason it seems the info is incorrect, as the pounds should be a larger number than the kilograms. I remember doing mental backflips the first time I read that, and for some reason, I came to the conclusion that I did.
6500# dry it seems. I am going to have to do some math to see what my max cargo load should probably be.
I guess the rules are a little too blurry for me. I thought for sure I saw guys talking about their engines in the Ex forum, but I am new so I guess I'll learn and move on.
Nah, not "rules" per se, but it is forum etiquette.
No hard and fast rules, but the "rule of thumb" for all forums applies here too, which for this situation is basically this: When you have a specific problem about your rig and want to ask for help, start a thread explaining what you have, what the problem is, and what you've done (if anything) to diagnose the problem. You do this by starting your own thread in the proper forum, not by stating what your problem is in an already established thread discussing a topic that is not your truck.
Because the Ex covers 4 different engine platforms, we do at times help with specific engine platform issues in the Ex forum, but those are usually questions with established, simple and easy to answer questions. Most others I usually move to the proper tech forum if I see them.
You were asking specific custom tuning questions for your 7.3L in an established thread for campers, in an Excursion forum where general trailer questions are bandied about and other RV stuff is discussed.
What you need is a specific thread started by you, in the 7.3L PSD forum to address your problem, and not a question buried in a thread where we are discussing trailers and such.
Please don't read too much negativity into me moving your post and trying to explain how things work. I know I have a way of being blunt and maybe come across as short or irritated and I try to remember to add smilies to my posts to intimate a more relaxed post, but I do forget at times.

Yeah, that yellow sticker's numbers don't make a lot of sense, even reversed they don't evenly convert from lbs to KGs......? A trip to the scale may be the only way to see exactly what it weighs.
And since the trailer is over 3000 lbs it should have brakes on both axles as required by the PA motor vehicle code.
Interesting development in our "remodel". Removed the fold out couch and base along with the overhead cabinets last night along with most of the carpet. Pulled the slide in to trim against the walls where the slide seats. When I went to extend the slide back out the mechanism is popping and the slide is now crooked. Anyone ever hear or see anything like it? I retimed the slave gear, pulled the slide back in and sent it back out. Same damn thing.
I'm know drowning my sorrows and trying to figure out what I can do to get this thing functioning properly again. Thinking I'll swap the drive gears from the master to the slave side and see what happens. My other thought was to adjust the gear locations but the mounts are welded to the frame.
Still on the RV search, planning to keep the travel trailer through the summer if not longer. With a bunch of family coming into town it would help to have both. Looked at one today, another tomorrow with a few more set-up to see over the week.
I'm getting really anxious for spring now that some of the snow is melting!
I was home for the evening when they started shutting down all the roads as he crossed from one end of town to the other, and back. Looked like a real dog and pony show...

Any ideas would be appreciated
I got nothin'. But maybe Steve @RV Tech can stop in and provide some help or guidance.
My TT must have been manufactured in a state with different laws. I only have brakes on one axle. I suppose this is something I should rectify before I get in some kind of trouble.

Yeah, some states have even lower ratings of over 2500lbs needing brakes on all axles. If your dead axle has the 4 bolt flange where the brake backing plate bolts up it would be an easy job to add brakes to that axle. The extra stopping power is nice to have also of course.
So this is the best place to park the trailer for power, water, wifi, etc; but I did not think through this all the way because hooking up and disconnecting is a PITA.
Sorry to Hi-Jack, but are those truck tires 275/75/R16's?
