Keep an eye on Craigslist and the like for used Hensleys and ProPrides, they can be had for a decent price with a bit of patience and luck. I bought my Hensley off Craigslist seven years ago used for $650, after a repainting and two sets of new bearings and seals (it uses common trailer axle bearings and seals) and a set of heavier spring bars it has been perfect for us on two different trailers and over 30K miles.

Do it! It truly is stress free towing. Your Jayco looks to have a similar length and weight as my Catalina and I can't say enough about the ride quality with the Hensley.

Much like Tom, I found mine on craigslist and even with shipping had about $650 in it total. That was shipping from California to Ohio so I got a real steal on the hitch itself.

Here is a decent buy. I would figure around $900 shipped to your door depending on your location.

i would go with the 1400lb bars, they are the heaviest the HA will accept, 1200lb bars should work for an "about 1200lb" TW but having a little extra capacity is handy for those longer and more heavily packed trips.

Wife and son are gone for the weekend, so it's tinker with the camper weekend. Put the new wheels / Goodyears on the camper.

Doesn't look much different, I reckon.

On to dropping the coroplast and propane piping so I can install my BAL underslung spare tire hanger. Was kind of a pain, but worth it. Went easy enough... about 4 hours including running to TS for nuts and bolts. Last year I removed the spare from the rear bumper in order to mount a small aluminum box for my patio mats and plastic leveling blocks. Now I don't need to haul the trailer spare in the Ex anymore.

I've seen others use the spare carrier for their blue tanks, so figured I'd test fit mine. I think with some simple brackets to keep it from moving...... this may actually work ! We usually have to use the blue tank once or twice per year. I currently strap it to my roof rack. Any thoughts, positive or negative ?

Perhaps I should weigh the spare and blue tank. I believe the tire carrier is good for 100 lbs.

not trying to be a smarta$$, but what situation would you be in that would require the use of the famous blue tank?? Are the no gray/black tanks on the unit?

We use our frequently as we boondock alot as we stay our for well beyond what our tanks can hold. As long as there is water close by and a dumpstation, we are home free.

The campground we are staying at in August has great sites right on the river. Those sites have water and electric, but no septic. If we were only staying a few days, no problem .... just dump out on the way out. But .... we are staying a week, so I will need to use the blue tank at least twice. For me, it's worth it to have a site on the river. Most places, when staying more than a few days, we would just get a full hook-up site.

As far as I know, blue/grey are for grey water, and our black tank usually holds plenty until we get to a station. Grey is easy to need to dump if you're doing dishes, taking showers etc. Best money ever spent was to buy a tamp for dumping grey.

With the incredible karma possibility here I will also go out on a limb and say I have never had to use the spare on any of my trailers yet either. :O

Having a teenage daughter makes you realize how small your grey tank really is. When ever we are at a site without sewer we have our blue tank.

Blue tank comes in handy for the gray water sometimes, have never used it or needed it for the poo tank. You can count on one hand the number of times I have camped in a site with a sewer hookup.

Baby got new shoes. Sidewalls are definitely thicker and stiffer than the old "Goodride" tires.
