That was from the first weekend home with the TT when new, the rug and his fur (along with his equally furry but smaller brother) hadn't explored the new camper at that point. Now they go on some of the local weekend get away type trips, maybe about 25% of our outings. They have gone as far as Columbus (Cross Creek at Alum Lake), but that is a long ride for them.
i feel like this thing does not do a good job at heating properly. You either feel like you are baking in the sun in the living room area while the heat is running or freezing in the arctic in the bedroom. The garage feels pretty decent most of the time.
i dont have to pay for electricity but if I run heaters all the time and eat up a lot of juice, that will change. When it really starts getting cold and we knowbwe wont be moving for a while, I will be lining hay bails around the outside of the the trailer to keep wind from getting underneath and helping to insulate the bottom a little bit.
Heading to the VA mountains today, I am getting ready to hook the Ex up and check the essentials, the long pull up Fancy Gap will give it a workout.
Have a good trip, that pull up Fancy Gap is one of the biggest tests here in the East, been over that several times with the TT.
Keep your eyes peeled, you will be in Apoc's stomping grounds, never can tell what will happen there!

What do you think? Will the truck handle it?
Hi Hoso, welcome to the forums.
Your question would be better asked in the fifth wheel towing forum Fifth Wheel & Gooseneck RV Towing - Ford Truck Enthusiasts Forums. Lots of good helpful folks there that tow your type of trailers.
This is the place where all the cool kids with the giant station wagons hang out, not much fiver towing here.
As long as the gear ratio is in the 4s, should be ok.....IMO
I wish I could afford 4.3 in my X...
maybe someday
Charley, our new lost friend has a 7.3 diesel and didn't mention oversized tires, so deep gears wouldn't be a good match for that low revving motor, they have different needs than our gassers.

I did Fancy Gap with the TT once and it was on the trip home where I had a ton of turbo issues on the first part of the trip. We hit it around midnight and I was worried I was going to blow another boot on the way up. It is definitely a good workout for the truck.

Ya it should handle it just fine and dandy. I pull that much with my 250 all time no issues.

We've already booked our site and we should have 2 min 38 sec of twilight, the maximum is 2:41.6.
The RV park's online calendar system wouldn't let me book longer than 3 months in advance so I called and paid for the reservation.
