Progress ... hanging sheetmetal!!
82nd Airborne Vet who was in the D-Day invasion and landed on the Normandy coast. He was on TV last June for the 70th anniversity and was on a panel of vets who were interviewed by tom Brokaw.
New Year. You Da Man, again. I love that DC3/C47.
What an awesome tool it was and still is. But that is
a lot of Aircraft to be hanging like that. Ain't that like
Tornado/Hurricane country around there? I would hate
to them all come crashing down.
I flew in a DC3 when I was a kid. Barely remember any
of it.
Happy New Year All
I think I just showed the front of this photo before. Is this a 54??

Hi Guys!! It’s been a while since visited the site. I hopeeveryone is doing well and projects are coming along without issues! I wasthinking about my grandfather today. Forty years ago today he passed! It’s hard to believe it’s been that long. Iso wish I remembered more about him. Speaking of deaths, one of the last two living Fire Patrol officers passedaway recently. Warren Redick was a real nice man and one hell of a firefighter. He was that old school type firefighter, just like Ron. I only met the man onceand that was in 2004 when I flew out to Bull Shoals Arkansas to interview himfor my first book. He was nice enough to put me up in his home. I went throughall his Patrol photos (and there were many because he was an avid photographer)and he allowed me to use any ones I wanted for the book. He had a Patrol logbook on a shelf and when Ilooked inside, I was surprised to see many entries by my grandfather. When it was time for me to leave, he shockedme when he gave me the book to keep along with an early style Patrol badge. I really liked Warren and always kept intouch. His son put together a book using his images from the 50’s & 60’s. Ibought the book and sent it to him to sign it for me. The inscription waspriceless to me. In it he said I was one of his favorite historians. I would highly recommend the book to anyvintage fire apparatus buffs. Theremaining Patrol officer is 91 and doing well. I contacted his son recently whosaid his dad is still hanging in there. Another of the greatest generation. Here is a little of what his son sent me: “My Dad was in the 7th Cavalry (Custer’s regiment). They were mounted (10,000 horses were in the division) till they deployed tothe pacific. I’ve attached a Chicago Tribune article. He was awarded a SilverStar, Bronze Star and 3 Purple Hearts.”<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com

Hope the house is coming along well. Those are some great pics. I'm really glad you're documenting the history, since most of those heroes are no longer with us.
Thanks Joe!! The house is coming along as is "Betsy"!! Here is my new impact front door....its an 8 foot door. I had a standard sized one with a window on top. Bought it brand new with paperwork on Craigslist for a grand! Its a 2500-3k door. I recently gutted my master bathroom and I'm trying to get that project done so I can move on to the next

Hi Rich, unfortunately the book is on hold until I can get more orders. I thought about doing just 100 copies but that would price the book at $40 ... $10 more than I originally said.
