I would like to say that I myself was one of the guys that when I first started posting here that I thought alot of what Rickatic said was trying to sugarcoat some of these problems as i started to stick around here and post things i realized that alot of the things he says are factual,I was one of these guys with a CEL on since mid January only to have it fixed just 4 days ago. I too at times was very mad at what was going on with my truck but if you stick around and listen to what people say you will find that the info he provides is most likely correct,I am not trying to score any brownie points here with Rickatic but I took what he and Vloney had posted about the solution to the CEL issue to my dealer this past time and i now have a truck that is fixed!! I think sometimes the info is posted here alot faster than what the dealerships recieve it, if at times it may sound like he doent care i dont believe that that is the case he only provides the facts that he knows so for what its worth i would try bringing in the CEL fix that was posted and try that if that dont work than try another dealer if that dont work try a Chevy or a Dodge and you will really know what its like to have problems! Dont give up they will fix it and then you will find out that you bought a great truck!!

mr. windows,

Curious, did your dealer figure it out on their own or did you have to bring the solution posted here for them to follow? Just curious.

Congrats on getting it fixed.

There are very few problems with the new 6.7 Superduty. If there are any they are isolated issues.

So far there appears to be close to just as many vehicles here with issues as those that had no troubles on my so called "Poll" Pull your head out of the sand and do some reading here.

The only person who I'm calling intellectually dishonest is you. After seeing all these posts about Tranny issues, CEL issues etc.... you still say these are isolated instances.

Sorry but that's not the case.

The US army is not in Baghdad..........
Ok...now I have been called stupid by a guy who I asked straight forward questions about his brake issue in an attempt to help, called intellectually dishonest and compared to Baghdad Bob. Quite insulting to say the least...and the guy that compared me to Baghdad Bob does not even own a 6.7.

I will bow out of this discussion now. The last page of posts by some has looked like an RVnet brand war discussion. I spend my time here trying to help others either with their questions or to provide some clarity to the discussion. Most here would say I have helped...some do not like me and say I am dishonest. To my detractors...what is my motive for spreading falsehoods? It is not financial so please tell the forum so all may share your wisdom.

I am concerned about the growing lack of civility here. This forum has been a very good place to visit for good information and civil disagreements. Trolls and troublemakers were not welcome...a return to that standard would be welcome

The trolls win...who loses?

Ricatic for what its worth at times i have thought what you post seems dishearting but after being around here for awhile i have learned to try not to **** and moan and listen before opening my mouth and i will have to say it seems to be helping me instead of the other so keep posting your comments and solutions based on the facts there will always be people that disagree but i think you provide a very valuble service to people on here!! Thanks!

brad new truck with check engine light

I have a 2011 f-350 deisel and the check engine light has been on for about 4 months the dealership keeps telling me its a nox sensor problem and ford has sent out 3 different codes to fix this problem and nothings worked yet. This is driving me nuts, my first brand new truck and i'm driving around with a check engine light on!! I have always liked my ford trucks and never had to many problems but this is crazy. Has anyone heard of a fix coming down from ford or is the dealer just full of it.

T3266 - 6.7L DIESEL - DTC P164A RESETTING AFTER TSB 11-04-21
SOME 6.7L DIESEL VEHICLES MAY TRIGGER A P164A DTC AS A PENDING DTC OR ILLUMINATE THE MIL AFTER PERFORMING TSB 11-04-21 RECALIBRATION OR REPLACING THE NOX SENSOR. THE ADAPTIVE LEARN TABLES FOR THE NOX SENSOR ARE NOT RESET DURING PCM REPROGRAMMING AND MAY NEED TO BE RESET/CLEARED TO PREVENT THE CODE FROM BEING SET FALSELY. RESETTING/CLEARING OF THE ADAPTIVE LEARN TABLES CAN BE ACCOMPLISHED WITH IDS BY SELECTING THE FOLLOWING: POWERTRAIN - SERVICE FUNCTIONS - RESET/CLEAR SPECIFIED FUNCTION AND THEN SELECTING THE NITROGEN OXIDE SELECTION. NOTE: ADDITIONAL DRIVE CYCLES WILL ALSO ALLOW THE ADAPTIVE LEARN TABLES TO UPDATE AND ACCURATELY EVALUATE THE O2 SIGNAL DURING EXTENDED DECELERATION FUEL SHUT OFF CONDITIONS, BUT WILL TAKE LONGER THAN RESETTING/CLEARING THE ADAPTIVE TABLES WITH IDS

Whoa

I'm new here, but not in life or business! Nothing is ever made better on these forums by lambasting or name calling. It would be prudent to just read.....post questions....answer questions and use all to your advantage.. It's America and all are entitled to his or her opinion. We all probably never agree, but the end result is all that really matters. Help each other and enjoy these new trucks. I'm 61 and have never sat in a nicer truck. One year I bought 23; none touched this KR!!

Wow...I'm sorry I didn't stop in here sooner.

Can we really not disagree with one another without calling each other names? Everyone on FTE is welcome to share their opinion, but name-calling isn't permitted here.

Can we please get back to the insightful and respectful discussion that FTE is known for instead of name-calling?

I have compassion for all you guys up in Canada that still have this problem. I am unsure of the warranty procedures and repair processes at Ford Canada but if they are the same as Ford USA the NOX sensor CEL problem has been resolved. There were a couple of TSB's issued at the end of April and early May that contained detailed instructions for the procedure to resolve the NOX CEL issue.

Briefly, here is the history and the cure. When the NOX calibration problem surfaced in the cold climates, it was determined that some trucks had NOX sensors with improper calibration tolerances. There was a detailed TSB issued last winter to deal with that issue. The problem was exacerbated when dealers read the TSB and put all NOX related problem codes in the same basket. Nope, nothing we can do...Ford is working on a software repair. These dealers then short circuited the TSB's detailed diagnostic proceedure which caused problems galore. Some of these trucks actually had a failed NOX sensor. These owners drove around for months not knowing that a simple NOX sensor change would solve their CEL.

Now, after the software solution was released, these same trucks were brought into the dealer, a simple computer re-flash was performed and the truck given back to the owner. Guess what? The truck still has a bad NOX sensor and the light comes back on. Customer is angry, dealer is embarrassed and Ford gets the blame.

If the dealership had followed all TSB diagnostic instructions to the letter, the CEL would not return. This has been documented several times here by the Ford tech's that post here. One of the best is from Canada and had a NOX sensor issue. He has posted several times in the last month that the lates solutions from Ford work. If your dealer still does not know how to fix your NOX related CEL, look for a smarter dealer.

What is the definition of insane...doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results...IRMC

Regards
I printed what you said here off and took it into my dealer, left the truck there for the day and when I got it back no cel on . It has been 4 days now ,which is the longest I have gone without the light.
Thank you for the help.
