i dont know much about sleds, i just see what a team in my motocross series has -southside polaris..they have about 15 snocross racers, all experts and pros. i believe they have a few 440's or something like that. but none of their sleds are even remotely close to stock.
I can't stand the on rails feeling, its terrible. My sled I can corner just fine with but its a lot smoother going down the trail and If I make a move quick I don't feel like I'm going to get thrown off
The Polaris race sleds are purpose built for racing and make bad trail sleds. They tried to sell a consumer version for a couple years but no one liked them very much.
At least with arctic cat but i could imagine with the other race 600s also, they cant make a trail race 600 because there is no room for the oil injection. youd have to mix your gas/oil every time which would suck
I'm not sure if the race 600's have oil injection or not. But They are wound pretty tight with little room for not being spot on with jetting.
They dont. one of my friends races for arctic cat and has a 2008 or 09 sno pro 600 and it doesnt have oil injection. thats why they cant make a trail version because there is no room for it

Or just carry mix oil with you and throw it in the tank when you fill up? Or am I missing something
not many MX racers running 2 strokes anymore, but when they were popular everybody took the injection off and ran premix. its much more reliable and consistent.
no need to worry about any of that with a nice 4 stroke though!!!

Snowmobiles have extremely limited storage space, and who wants to carry around oil? I carry a quart for extended rides but i can just throw it in my oil resevoir. And i believe all race snowmobiles are still 2 stroke, i like my 2 smoke. 4 strokes may be nice but you cant have any fun anywhere but the lake with them. Too heavy. Off trails where its at, my sled weighs like 440 pounds really easy to throw around, ive ridden a 4stroke arctic cat its really fast and smooth and quieter but its not that fun

The yamton is a four stroke race sled. Maybe the cat can't be injected but the ski doo should be able because it is basically what the consumer version is built on.
