Hey Jim, what are you rebuilding the carb for? As in, what's the plan for the carb?
My friend has a YFA on his 250 I6 in a 1977 Granada.
IIRC getting the seal in around the bowl vent flapper and the accelerator pump hose are a PITA.
From the looks of it it's never been off the car.
I still think he has a bad fuel pump but the carb certainly needs some TLC.
Thanks for the offer Josiah!
We'll see how bad I can mess this one up. Lol
What do you need to get working before you tear into your truck in earnest?
Well...I got some front end(steering) parts on the way that I want to get on the truck, hopefully soon after the holidays. Right now, however, the cold has killed my starter/solenoid, and the damn thing won't quit cranking. This happened last year, around the same time if I am not mistaken. It's always gotta wait til it's cold and rainy/snowy to do something. Luckily I don't use the truck all too much right now, and it acted up while parked at the g/f's condo. So, needless to say, it's gonna sit and think about what it has done for a few days. The parts I put in it last time were cheap/in a budget crunch autozone cheapo's. I'm not completely surprised, just a bit annoyed that they failed. I priced out napa and motorcraft, and the motorcraft is actually cheaper, so I will be ordering those soon I think. Then...once the christmas bonus(fingers crossed), arrives, the HEI DUI will be ordered. WOO!
Stay warm guys. I will be outdoors most of the day. Poor "Eli's" guy(middletown). They tore up their parking lot, and so now they have to have a guy stand outside all the time to direct people into the "new" parking area. I was there last night, and that guy just looked miserable. Saw a couple cops yesterday as well all bundled up directing traffic. All you could see was there eyes.
Glad to see you home safe Dave. Enjoy the holidays!
