I took delivery of Projekt StreaMPG tonight, and it certainly is a lot of car for the money. Very happy.

Good evening everyone. Off to take my license test tomorrow morning. Wish me luck.

School is nearing the end of the semester so tons of crap to do there. No time to get my calipers rebuilt for like two weeks. Hope it doesn't snow between now and then.

good evening everybody. my bad luck continued tonight.
-first the forward pinion bearing tore up and was making noise after the new gears went in.
-i took it all apart and got all new parts. my new parts came with axle bearings and seals so i decided to change them, and broke my slide hammer in the process. i fixed the slide hammer and built a special tool to get the job done quicker.
-i got to the garage and was about to start working when the power went out, that was a wasted day and wasted overnight delivery money.
-i got going on it today, everything was going well. i froze the pinion gear, heated the rear bearing to 300*f, and slipped them together. i set the assembly under the car and went to get my other items needed, rolled under the car on the creeper and *PING*......the bearing race basically exploded and blew a chunk out as well as cracked all the way down one side. fortunately i was able to pick up another new bearing in middletown so i will try again tomorrow.

i am learning a lot of new 4 letter words with this project. at least my custom tool worked perfectly.

good morning CT. thanks for the offer andy but i should be all set. i have the pinion in the freezer so i just need to heat the new new bearing and i should be off to a good start this morning. i am praying that the last failure was just a freak because i have had much worse interference fit bearings that never exploded, there is no reason for this one to have failed.

hopefully all goes smoothly and i will see you guys at pete's soon.
