WOW you lucked out Pete.
How did you get the driver side uppipe off?
With the gaps in the doors you are lucky it was not snow, you would have a foot of it in the shop.
it will keep the miles off the mustang, until its summer of course. i dont think she will ever use the sunroof in the vw because the mustang is a convertible. i need to look for some all season tires for the new car though, it has **** for tires on it now.
I ordered up some Koni coilovers, bought some used 19" wheels, and bought a used entry level VAG-COM, for mine this weekend. I want to get a couple other things, but not until I take delivery of some of the things I already have coming.
i need to get a vagcom. where did you find a used one? i was wondering if autoenginuity had euro software too, that would cover me on the fords, vw's, and saabs.
Uhhh care to elaborate on what exactly that is, Aaron? And where would you get it? Seems a little sketchy to me....
I think it has something to do with a computer program and being able to plug a cord into your vw for diagnostics. I heard my friends brother talking about it once
its the AE in the VW world. its basically EXCELLENT software for a laptop and a OBDII to USB interface cable. i have used it a few times before, and the softwares scanning/data logging capabilities is great, better than the VW dealers tools.
goodnight everybody, i need to rest up so i can swim to work in the morning.
The new VW's use the CECM (Central Electronic Control Module) for everything from turning on the lights, to making the car run. IF you want the cool features of the euro cars, you not only need to buy the euro parts (lights usually), but reprogram the CECM to accept the new parts and make them function properly. Gone are the days of having the base car mostly wired for these things, and having to just buy the parts and harnesses and install. Now you have to take the extra step to "code" the parts. BS if you ask me, but I'll do what I have to do.
Morning all. Sprinkling between Bristol and Hartford. Hope this all dries up today cause tonight dips sub freezing again and I would always rather swim to work rather than skate to to work.
