As 81_Explorer previously pointed out, it is nearly impossible to tell what year that is. The clear park lamps were also used in 1981. However, it looks to have the Free Wheeling pinstripes. The black grille also was offered on the Free Wheeling pickups.
On a side note, the blue/white Flareside in that image from the 1981 brochure features one of the rarest options Ford offered on the 80-86 trucks, factory fog lights. For even more fun, my 1980 brochure features both the red free wheeling longbed, and the blue/white flareside, just like the 1981 brochure. However, in my 1980 brochure, the red truck has the fog lights, while the blue/white truck does not.
I thought those lights were aftermarket, so I took them off my 82. Glad I never throw anything away, they're going back on the truck!!!! Thanks, reps to you

Do you have pics? If I recall correctly the company that made them was Marchal?
Definitely very, very rare, especially if the housings are still intact. If they are factory, then you will have the special fog light switch molded with the instrument cluster, to the right of the headlight and wiper controls. If you don't have this, then they're not factory, or your bezel has been swapped.
The bezel that came with the truck had the switch there, I swapped it out for another unit, because it was broken, but kept the switch The lights are complete, It was an old man truck, so it didn't see much use. The lights are in the garage, probably buried, I'll look this week end, and get some pics.
thanks for the info guys. The truck i keep seeing looks just like the red flareside in the brochure except for being brown, And yes ctubutis it is a ford pic

Awesome man! Definitely a rare item you have there. It's a good thing you didn't toss them out! You wouldn't happen to have power mirrors would you? Those are equally rare, if not even more rare than the fog lights.
I have never seen power mirrors on these, only on the 92 up's, If I had a picture, I could keep an eye out, there is a jy about 1.5 hrs from here that has nothing newer than 90, and it is 200 acres full. there's a lot of 80's trucks in there.

Consider yourself lucky. The yard I usually go to used to have at least 20 7th gens at any given time. Today, they only had two.
I don't have the power mirrors, nor do I care to have them, but if you come across a set, grab them up if you can. This is the only picture I have ever seen of them, and it's just a picture of the switch. Apparently the mirror that was used for power was the swing lock type.
