I found one not as nice in a local JY about a month ago. XLt Lariat with p/w and d/l. Tried to buy the whole truck but they wouldn't sell it, so I went back last week and took the doors and wiring harness. They're in my shop now. Will go on my Flareside in the near future. Also got the clock (don't tell anybody). Door panels are primo, one mirror has a small dent in it, but I will change that out. I thought it was a super find.

That white stuff is why there are very, very few trucks of this vintage still around in my current locale.
I did see two around town recently though. One was a very, very rusty tan '82-86 F-150 4x4 with a small garbage body on the back working as a trash truck for a private hauler. The other was an '82-86 blue F-250 4x4 in reasonable condition but with a very ugly yellow service body. It appeared to be for sale as well.

You can thank your auto industry lobbyists for those great " cash for clunkers" schemes, our gov got sucked into it for a while but thankfully now it's all gone here.
You would find that the VIN has been recorded against some sort of taxpayer funded rebate or incentive scheme and that's why the frame can't be sold, it's already been "sold" to the taxpayers for an assumed environmental benefit.
